Good vacation spots/tours?

As a sheltered canadian with a few weeks of vacation coming up, I've an urge to go somewhere else. Somewhere that isn't Canada or the USA, as to not re-live the marathon car trips of my youth.

But there are so many options! It's like being a new homeowner - I'm not even sure what I want. So I'm curious for you North American types, what tours and trips have you taken and had a wonderful (or terrible!) experience?

I think you should visit a 3wc (3rd World Country) and vacation in style since most currencies are worth more than the country's Examples: Bolivia, the Filipines or Jordan haha.
