Default The Gaming Random Thought Thread

Calling all Dice Hoarders, keyboard jockeys, joystick junkies, and console commandos....

From the risk and reward of rollin polyhedral bones, to the konami code, from the societies of Sims all the way to the the secret library of old ttrpg books you have from way back. Regardless of your edition, your setting... How do you like your bits; 8,16,64, or do you eschew nostalgia preferring the latest in cutting edge graphics? Hate the AAA Gaming industry and want to bitch about it? Review games yourself, share reviews you found helpful, or just connect with other gaming geeks about gaming stuff. This is the thread for that!

It’s 1981, and the transition from 70’s clothing, hairstyles etc to 80’s style is definitely in play here. These guys are a bit older than I was at the time.

    Nerds!

^^ they were playing Vault of the Drow, module D3, based on the brief map images in the video... roflmao.

Sick man, just sick... They probably got the shit kicked out of them by Lloth when they got to the demonweb pits.

What else is sick is that was published in 1978. It doesn't feel that long ago and the product looks new than that. I was only ten years old in 1978 but it still feels like last month or something. Erol Otus did the cover and I think Jeff Dee did the back. (Actually mine might be the reprint, because the Dee artwork is marked as '80 even if the module originally published in 78.)

I've been really wanting to play Red Dead Redemption 2 lately but that I'll require me to have to setup my PS4, and, you know, actually play. Most games feel like work these days, and I rarely feel like doing my actual work, let alone virtual pixel thumb work.

Mr. New Vegas was an AI created by Mr. House? How the hell have I played FNV so many times since 2010 and never realized that?

Yeah yeah inattentiveness. I’m easily distracted.
There is no mysterious essence we can call a 'place'. Place is change. It is motion killed by the mind, and preserved in the amber of memory.

I installed the Dr Who mod in New Vegas, it was pretty fun, though the weeping Angels in Nipton scare the absolute fuck out of me every time.

Jim Sterling is a lot of fun as well and speaks in depths about the video game industry.

He's the guy who tells you where your money's going when you tell the VG industry to shut up and take your money...
