I like Lautrec, and if I may be so boring, Van Gogh, and the one who painted with the many, tint dots. I can't remember his name.
Pissarro? He did dots.

I love Van Gogh, his self portraits are amazing. I once looked at one in the Musee d'Orsay for an hour from different distances, just absorbing it.

Appears she meant Monet, and yes, I know he didn't do dots.

<- Van Gogh "Inner-self-portrait". That's why I find it so interesting.

Still the same bone structure/facial proportions as the other self portraits, only without the flesh.

Did you save this image to photobucket yourself? Maybe you chose to "resize" it when you saved it. If you just copied it from a site, are you it was bigger? Did you copy the "preview" image by mistake?

I don't know what photobucket is. I didn't save anything to anything, just copied. The picture was small, though.

Although technically it isn't painting, it looks like watercolour, so screw it.

:D The Noodlely-Appendaged One is pleased!

What a good idea for a thread!

I like this guy:

[Cool painitngs]

I know people look down on him and say he isn't a proper artist, and that some of his stuff is soft porn, but who gives a f*ck? I like him. Plus he's Scottish. I have some limited edition stuff.

I like the way he paints the planes on clothing folds and the figures. Simplified, yet descriptive. He creates lots of nice shapes that constrast with each other, too.

Frederic Edwin Church - El Rio de Luz

Wow.

You lot have excellent taste.

I saw El Rio de Luz in person, it's an incredible painting! I forgot about it untill now, but it's a stunning piece of work. Thanks for reminding me of it, cause it was one of my favourites at the Naitonal Gallery of Art.
