I know this is ample opportunity for lots of joke classes, but I actually wanted this to be a semi-serious thread.

I was never taught how to notice problems on a car because my father just assumed women were not interested in that sort of thing. I'm slowly learning things as I go with the cars I've ever owned, but I feel like I'll never really know things the way my father does since he learned from a child.

So! What's your list? What do you wish your parents taught you? What do you wish you were taught in some after-school program?

- Advanced auto repair
- Carpentry
- Fixing mechanisms
- Basic electrical work
- Grilling and advanced cooking techniques
