I'm a nurse's aide
at a nursing home

- What makes you want to stay in the position that you are, compared to the other ones?
Well I love working closely with people. I stay at my particular place because of comfort. I figure while i'm in school I shouldn't change places or jobs. I know all the resident's and am popular with them, and i'm friends with 90% of my coworkers so it can be a nice support system/social experience to go to work. I'm going to school to be an RN, so will be changing positions in a year.

- How and why did you end up there?
Too long of waiting lists for nursing school. Had all my prereqs and was waiting to get in somewhere. Got my CNA and applied at the place where I did my CNA clinical.
- How long have you been in the same place?
2 years
- How long do you think you could you stay?
I don't want to leave. I may want to be per diem there along with my regular job even after I become an RN. Like to maintain my roots and connections there as long as possible. , until it becomes outright inconvenient or useless. Its definitely like home for me there.

Business owner and indifferent to it.

Not particularly happy, not unhappy. I'm doing good and all, but there are tons of things much more important to me. It's not what makes me happy. But it also isn't making me unhappy.

I work as a translator, part-time, while going to school. It's an extremely good job, since I can work from home and all that counts is that I deliver the text before the deadline.

For now, I'm a machine operator. Certainly not my favorite job. At its best, I get to engage in physical activity alot that allows my mind to contemplate. At the same time, it tends to be monotonous and boring.

I wasn't sure whether to vote Qualified or Specialised. Either fits. In theory, you could do my job without being a specialist but it would be damn hard.

I'm not going to go in to any details about my job - I'll just talk in generalities.

What makes you want to stay in the position that you are, compared to the other ones?

I really enjoy the work. I get to nerd out at times and use my particular skills. It's fun at both the big picture and detailed level (well, ok, sometimes the detailed admin stuff bugs me). I feel like I'm making a difference. My boss is great and I get on well with most of my colleagues.

How and why did you end up there?

I moved from another area in the same organisation by applying for and getting a promotion. I put some thought in to what area I'd like to work in and what I was looking for in a job after being somewhat dissatisfied with previous jobs.

How long have you been in the same place

Current position, about 2.5 years.

How long do you think you could stay?

Under the current conditions in my team, maybe 3 - 5 years at a guess. I'm still learning so it's still interesting and the job is always evolving. Boredom = I move on quickly. Also, it matters to me that I have a good boss and colleagues.

- What makes you want to stay in the position that you are, compared to the other ones?

Good pay, decent freedom. Although the freedom is double sided. I've had weeks where I worked 16 hours a day 6 days stright, for example. But that's not every week. :)

- How and why did you end up there?

Grew up into it. Literally.

- How long have you been in the same place?

Fulltime for 7 years now, but I worked there parttime for 15 years now. I'm 25.

- How long do you think you could stay?

Probably forever but I am keeping my reserves. If the right oppertunity comes along for a job much closer to my heart, I won't be the one missing it. :)

i'm a student and i'm not happy about it. the tradition of university study is unfortunately so built on size that it has become outrageous. there is no need to create a 50 page paper on something that can be written in 10 or less.

i am most likely going to go further into game design for work however, which will yield me something much more in my interest.

for the moment, however, i don't work due to being government funded.

I'm a resident advisor.

- What makes you want to stay in the position that you are, compared to the other ones?
- I'm still a student, and this job relates most to what I want to do with the rest of my life, so being a resident advisor is probably the best choice I could make right now. I also love the job, so that helps. :D

- How and why did you end up there?
- I applied last year as an office assistant at the front desk. Through some miracle, I was selected after the main selection process over the summer.

- How long have you been in the same place?
- September of this year.

- How long do you think you could stay?
- Until June of next year, when I graduate :cheese:

five years at this company, but 1.5 years in each department so far

- How long do you think you could stay?

Already looking for new department to move to with less restrictions and more ability to implement change.
