As far as explaining the ENTP thing my hunch would be that this is based on reported income and that entps probably excel at hiding it. My understanding is that many are self employed also and as those of us who are self employed know there are many ways to hide/ write off a dollar.

i love you too.

So much for that page and their statistics.

Now go back to digging that ditch, Babylon Candle, and stop using other people's success as a badge of your own personal pride.

Ah, Edgar. I love you. I really do.

Thanks for the reminder, Frank. I have some tax avoidance I need to initiate. It's that time of the year.

I would like to remind my fellow ENTP's that April 15 is fast approaching. Better get those income tax filing extensions filed by midnight 4/15/2009.

Every ENTP knows the real tax deadline is October 15.

This post is like an invisible ego punch if you can't make that with the economy the way it is because you pretty much have to take what you
can get.

I don't understand "average salary." Does this factor in how many years you've been at your job?

It's average by whatever slicing they use... so in general, no. It does tend to be sliced by age of worker, which has some relationship to experience (but not in that position - but overall experience would probably have more meaning anyway.)

The order seems plausible. I can see how EJs and TJs generally do better in big corporations since those are the qualities believed by many to make good managers.

TJ is preferred, but I > E (IIRC) in terms of population makeup. It's in "Type Talk at Work", which I lost, so I can't double check.

However... just because the majority of Execs are TJ does not mean that TJs make more money in general. Execs are an extreme minority in the pyramid.

(Having said that, I would expect TJ is pretty dominant as they also compose a great deal of specialist fields. )

I was looking at some statistics here about mbti types and salary:
Type Statistics

Household Income
ENTJ - $84,434
ESTJ - $76,238
ESFJ - $74,882
INTJ - $72,043
ENFJ - $71,060
ISTJ - $71,020
ESTP - $69,323
ISTP - $67,349
ENFP - $66,210
INTP - $64,872
INFJ - $64,372
ISFP - $64,166
ISFJ - $63,870
ESFP - $63,281
ENTP - $62,960
INFP - $61,565

Apparently T's outperform F's given all the other letters are same and J's outperform p's.

Only in ENTP and ESFP case the I's perform better than the E's.

Amazing how ENTJ are so above everybody else. lol(Yes, I know self aggrandizing)

But yea what is surprising is the ENTP. How you explain that?

Yes. Seriously, Why this bracket next to ENTPs?
Seriously..why?

Those all seem obscenely high...

The median wage in my state is only a couple thousand higher than the median wage in... Puerto Rico. On the other hand, the highest median wage in the country, Washington D.C., is over twice the median wage in my state...

I'm a bit more concerned about this statistic:

Married
INFP - 30%

:sadbanana: Is it really this bad? No money, no love... And you wonder http://www.typologycentral.com/forums/nf-idyllic/16705-why-nfs-pity-themselves-so-much.html

And there are those who've taken significant paycuts in favor of increased freedom and flexibility, the chance to work in a humanitarian field, or other perks that are more aligned with what a person prioritizes.

CEOs and engineers get paid more than teachers and artists. There's not a whole lot of surprise here.

if you are unsure of being ENFP or ENTP: how succesful are you?

There's a $3,000 spread between those two types, which isn't really significant. It's not exactly the best way to determine type.

PROOF, that people are on average, lazy.

and i'm not sure what to say to this.. seriously can't tell whether you're joking or not

Yeah, if I made half of the lowest salary there, I'd feel like I was making out like a bandit. No worries in the world!

Yep.

I know an ENTJ that makes less than 20k, and an INTJ that makes 500k+. It's really about the strength and drive of an individual. All healthy types with a bit of intelligence, can do well for themselves. The only variable is what field and how.

Wow, it must be devastated.

lol Something like that. After half a year of not being able to get another job, she had to "settle for peasant work" just to eat. I'd say it was good for her though. I have a difficult time understanding pride getting in the way of food and a roof over someone's head.

Wow, those averages are all pretty high. Wonder why...

I wouldn't think that all the people who took that test and filled out their demographic info would come from well-off households, it seems like a random correlation.
