I enjoyed that one, prpl.
I seem to be on a run of young adult fiction. I read The Giver last week. I'm waiting for the other two in that series, Gathering Blue and Messenger, to arrive from Amazon Used. This week I'm reading Twilight, the first in a recent vampire teen novel series. I'm trying to get closer to my sister, but the book is surprisingly good.
I met someone whose reading the Twighlight series she even belongs to a group of people who dress up and play the parts of the characters. So I think I may read that next, it's defiently on my list of books to read. Ooh and I liked The Giver
My female students really loved the Twilight series. They got kind of mad when I guess what the plot to one of the stories was. I think it was something like this, "Let me guess, he's a vampire." I still need to get around to reading it.
I think you find that out pretty quickly, it's kind of fundamental to the story. Anyway, I was impressed to find that one of my favorite authors, Orson Scott Card, has reviewed the series positively. It occurred to me that Stephenie Meyer could be a female nom de plume for OSC. But I think it has been established that she exists and actually wrote the books.
Sigh.
After having Book 1 on my shelf for 10 years, I finally gave up the fight...
... and started reading Harry Potter yesterday.
I'm craving a good read. I wish I knew what I wanted.
