I am starting up swimming. I decided I will do a triathlon this summer. I am aiming to complete the whole thing within a reasonable time, but not go crazy, since it is my first one. I'll prob just do a shorter one, "sprint triathlon" which I think is usually like 500-750yd/m swim + 20K bike + 5K run.
My plan is to build up swim endurance and continue biking and running (which I already do). And then, once I've gotten more comfortable with swimming, do some training sessions in succession, maybe swim-bike or swim-run (or perhaps all 3!)
Swam laps today for the first time in my life. I think I maybe did 400yd? What a great workout.
Main problem is getting water in my ear, esp if I am doing backstroke. I know some swimmers wear ear plugs. Anybody have any recommendations?
Any general triathlon comments of course are welcome. Have you ever done any?
