I'm tired of taking MBTI tests- I always test right in the middle for I/E & T/F- gah!
Ne-yay! Ti or Fi.. I know the difference but they can seem deceptively similar from a psychological perspective. Ne- I know it well- it's my buddy but is it dominant or not? I need help- haha. Ask me some questions or something. I'll give honest answers.

Haha.
![]() Tell me about a tough, personal decision you had to make, and why you did as you did.

I had the same I/E-T/F issues, and someone here asked me about a "tough, personal decision", and it was still ambiguous. It was really grasping Berens, Hartzler and Nardi's descriptions of the cognitive process, and then taking the cognitive processes test that finally got me squared away.
The issue might be "active shadows", meaning you may use a particular T or F {e, i} function a lot, and thus reflect it in your answer to the questions, but it is really under stress you use that function. When not under stress, more positive uses of the function by others might go right over your head (Fi was this way for me, though it looked like I used it a lot). So you have to ask what role does the function play (the "role" being the eight archetypes of eight-function theory, popularized by Beebe).

I think one of the toughest personal decisions I had to make was back in 8th grade. I was in a group of friends. Friend A & Friend B became enemies and couldn't stand being together anymore. I'm not even sure how the conflict started. Most of my friends immediately chose to side with Friend A and chose not to associate with Friend B as well. I tried to spend time with both but at the end I decided just to spend time with Friend A- even though I knew that it would leave Friend B alone- I decided that I enjoyed spending time better with Friend A and the other friends who quickly chose to take his side. It was some stupid 8th grade stuff- but yea. One thing I personally liked better about Friend A was that he was much less controlling than Friend B. Friend B made some other friends and our group lost a person. I don't know what that would indicate in terms of personality type but it was tough at the time. At the time, Friend A & Friend B would mostly just talk shit about each other- I barely remember what caused the rift in the first place. Then I left private school for public school and made new friends- the end.

So... Which are you more likely to have a preference for... Fi... or Ti.... and why.
It may help to consider your behavior under stress too.. Does Te come out to play and aid Fi or does Fe come out to play and aid Ti? |

When did you lose your virginity?
What do you really think about Jurassic Park II? Have you ever paid money in exchange for sexual favors? What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Under stress- I definitely feel the reign of Fe much more than Te. I can use Fe to my advantage- in terms of having a lot of empathy. People are always so amazed that I know what they are thinking. I'm good at picking up on cues. A lot of times I use it to act a certain way when around others. There are many people who I wouldn't want to show my true self. I don't like being rejected by others. In my fraternity, we have this "Senior Speak" function where the seniors give the others advice. All the seniors gave me the advice of 'being myself'. From that standpoint, that would make me a empathic NT. Quote:
