Yeah, I always get 9. Enneagram is more about motivations or something or other so they don't correlate well.

 I was laughing because you keep saying different types. But, please, do elaborate on why I am xstp.

Actually, I now think you're an IsTX.

Kidding.

Well, I think you do take in a lot of information and see patterns. I've seen it now and then when you're giving someone advice. Your style, imo, shows that you see the big issues and adjust your words to get around them in a very careful way. So I think the N is there.

TP because of your humor style. It seems calculated and creative and often flips things on their head. I'm too tired to explain it, acshully. Sorry. But, I've seen the TPs do that a bunch.

And the first X, well, I think we move back and forth through the I/E border. In chat you're kind of on the cusp, as well as here. I see the Xs as being mostly self-connected but with occasional bursts of creativity and enthusiasm, like a neutron star. (How awesome was that analogy? :nerd:)

Does anyone have any more thoughts on the enneagram stuff? That's really why I bumped the topic, I am confident my MB type is ISFP. ;)

The thing with the enneagram stuff is it's more about motivations than behaviour.

Keep asking yourself ' If you get this (goal) what will it get for you' until you hit your core.

Okay, I understand this part.

Keep asking yourself ' If you get this (goal) what will it get for you' until you hit your core.

But not this one.

It made sense to me earlier, but not so much now.

Say for example posting here on TypC.

What does posting on TypC get for you?
If you get this what will it get for you?
If you get this what will it get for you?
If you get this what will it get for you?

You can do it with any activity. You don't need to tell me what you came up with.

Does that make sense?

Since Edahn thinks I don't talk about myself enough, I decided to start another topic all about me! :static:

This one isn't just my random yammerings, though. In fact, I'm mostly turning it over to you, those analysis wonders of MBTIc to examine me based on the window of my personality I have provided being a member on this site. So, tell us about me - you can use MBTI, Keirsey, Enneagram, Big Five, Small Five, High Five, Tarot cards...well, maybe scratch that last one. But don't just post a type with no explanation. Have some concrete evidence to back up your statement that everyone can see.

I'll even help you out by allowing you to ask me any questions you want. Be as specific as you can with them though, I don't like abstract hypothetical questions that have no applicability to real life. Or even internet life. If you want me to paste in any posts I have made on other forums or blogs or other stuff I have written like my poetry or anything like that, feel free to ask, I will do my best to oblige.

Edahn has already voted ISTJ in another thread, but of course he gave no reasons, so I invite him as well to back up his assertion here.

Have fun!
You're an ISFP filled with super-duper awesomeness. :static:
Take my word for it. I'm an expert. :)

 You have any thoughts on the enneagream deal?

It made sense to me earlier, but not so much now.

Say for example posting here on TypC.

What does posting on TypC get for you?
If you get this what will it get for you?
If you get this what will it get for you?

You can do it with any activity. You don't need to tell me what you came up with.

Does that make sense?

Okay, I decided to do this with my most common recent activities, starting with your example.

Posting on TypC/talking in Vent -

What does this get for you? - attention
If you get this what will it get for you? - pleasure
If you get this what will it get for you? - happiness
If you get this what will it get for you? - enjoyable life

working at my job -

What does this get for you? - money
If you get this what will it get for you? - food, shelter, fun activities
If you get this what will it get for you? - comfort, pleasure
If you get this what will it get for you? - opportunities for more fun

reading "Brains and Careers" by David Keirsey

What does this get for you? - knowledge about people
If you get this what will it get for you? - understanding people better
If you get this what will it get for you? - better communication
If you get this what will it get for you? - opportunities for fun with people

watching baseball games -

What does this get for you? - excitement
If you get this what will it get for you? - fun
If you get this what will it get for you? - pleasure
If you get this what will it get for you? - happiness

praying (decided to do a more challenging one)

What does this get for you? - closeness with God
If you get this what will it get for you? - clarity of mind
If you get this what will it get for you? - drive, comfort
If you get this what will it get for you? - more contentment, confidence

Maybe I'll do some more later, but there's some. Whaddaya think?

ISFP 7 I would say. The bottom motivations with the exception of praying are 7 I would say. And Introverted feeling is often said to correlate with 9 traits so that would explain the other answers.

Maybe...

Jeffster, I don't know the enneagram or you well enough.
The enne. has to do with inner motivations. You would be a better judge of that than I.
But here's a great webpage that can help you decipher it.
