This time I decided to use the "Naturalistic Type Test" that [MENTION=29903]Mayflower[/MENTION] posted in the questionnaire thread.
1. During your youth (7'ish to 18), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?
During my youth, I focused the most on my mind, and by that I mean whatever strange or bizzare ideas, dreams, longings, and desires that I thought of. I yearned for world that did not exist and will probably never exist. The activities I liked were art and music, because I felt as though it was a way to escape from reality, a way to express whatever it is that you can't quite get into words. I guess it was a way to let people see the "real" me, since I've never been a very open or super emotional person. The aspect of my life that was lax in attention was my social life. I figured it wasn't worth my time to cultivate an image that was not an accurate depiction of who I really was just to fit in with "society".
2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you are looking back over the last couple of years. What was your favorite aspect of the schooling experience and why? Favorite subject and why?
My favorite aspect of the schooling experince was just learning things, I guess. I've always been a pretty curious person, and I loved when my teachers made us do tons of independent research. For the most part, however, I felt somewhat restricted in school. My favorite subject was history, because I think it gives us valuable insight into human nature, and how it can form societies.
3. A couple of friends call and invite you out to a restaurant. While there, you all are pleasantly conversing and one of your friends makes a comment that irked you. What are you're thoughts and how do you respond?
I'd probably think, "what was the point of that comment? Was it to get a reaction out of people and/or start a debate? Was it directed at me? Why would someone make a comment like that?" I'd respond by trying to let the comment not get to me, just to keep the peace.
4. Your schooling is done and it's time to strike out into the world!! What sort of career do you want to go into and why?
I would have gone into a career as either an art librarian or a music librarian. I would have gone into these fields because I find the fields to be significant to society, and that more people should have knowledge of these topics.
5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to (your friend hints to it as well). Which one do you choose and why?
I would probably go to the bakery that I have a good relationship with. I mean, I was in charge of the cake, so why not go to the bakery of my liking. Besides, if they're hinting at the other cake shop, then why bother with having someone in charge of the cake? They should have placed an order at the cake shop of their liking and not bother with putting someone in charge of their cake.
6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?
The focus of the the critique would be that I don't go out of my way to engage with other people. I prefer my own company's, I have tendency to "check out" mentally whenever someone is talking about something I could care less about, and I rarely start conversations, so I can see how people would view this as being self-centered.
7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?
I would probably think "does this go against my own moral code and how I feel about something?" I would probably respond by politely saying "no, thank you", and I would go home.
8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?
The things about these works that warrant the most attention to me is how they represent the mind of the artist, or how they perceive(d) the world. This is because I am fascinated with how humans, even though we are all biologically similar, can have such different views on how they see the world.
9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?
The criteria and factors that influence my choice would be if it is an economical choice for me, if it fits my driving purposes, and if it says something about me as a person. The one that would be my main focus is if it fits my driving purposes.
10. Yep, you now have a kid (sex of your choosing)! Years pass and they are now 15 years old. You notice their personality traits are the complete opposite of how you were when at their age. Describe how they are. Describe the possible conflicts that would arise between both of you due to differing temperaments.
My kid is loud, sarcastic, nosey, athletic, extremely talkative, image-obsessed, does not really care about academic subjects, is status-obsessed, loves being around large groups of people, hates being alone, extremely opinionated and refuses to hear where other people are coming from, blunt, rude, has bad manners, snarky, rebellious, obsessed with the opposite sex, only cares about her own feelings, bored easily, gossipy, and catty. The conflicts that would arise would be about the importance of learning, them not realizing I need peace and quiet, not caring about other people's feelings, constantly trying to sneak outside the house, and constantly hurting each other's feelings due to not understanding one another.
