Hello. This is another type me thread but also a test bed for my prototype questionnaire.

1. During your youth (7'ish to 20), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?
I would say that I mainly focuses on what was happening in front of me, whether playing with others to watching tv. I was interested in anything about trucks and cars. When I was younger, I enjoyed playing with legos because I liked building things like car replicas and those of my own design. Video games became a hobby as I got older. I guess the reason I am attracted to them is because they immerse me in a thrilling experience that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. I probably would have to say I payed little attention to foresight. When I was younger, I did things spontaneously for fun which sometime lead to injury, damage to property, and getting into trouble. This also played a part in my anger as I didn't think about "what will happen" and lead me to be aggressively vindictive. I learned to look ahead but still short-sighted in my aims.

2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you get to choose 2 elective courses. Which of following two would you pick? Why?

-Science
-P.E./Gym
-Art/Music
-History
-Math
-English

I would have to say say P.E. first. When I was in high school, it was one of the few classes that I liked. I liked running around and showing off. Dodgeball was a favorite. Also, who does like sitting on their duff 8 hours a day? For my second choice, ...History? I was going to say Art because I enjoyed it in my day, but that was probably because I was interacting with friends than actually the course itself. I liked history because of all the intriguing stories. I would say it's more about the events themselves than understanding the historical concepts. So basically, story time!

3. A couple of friends call and invite you out on an outing. Which activity is most likely to tempt you to join? Why?
As long as we're "doing" something, I'll probably go. It's nice to talk and all, but doing just and only that gets boring sometimes. Parties are fun if there is some group activity. Plus, the the food!!

4. It's time for you to head off to college and start your career path. How do you decide where to go? How do you decide which major/career?

I still don't rightly know and I already went to college. It doesn't really matter where I go for college; they're all the same to me. As for choosing my career, I would choose something that I like, something that calls to me. Even though I finished, I have yet to find a career that interests me. Probably something to do with the aesthetics of cars (car aero designer).

5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to. Which one do you choose and why?
I would go with the one I am cool with. Yeah, everyone goes to that one guy but, who cares? My friend probably wants me to go to it, but who's in charge? Plus, my place is probably cheaper.

6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?
It's probably about me not "taking things seriously" I have a tendency to attempting to dissolve serious tones with humor.

7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?
Internally, I probably be "Okay...[thinks about consequences]"but if it is fun, I'd probably go along.

8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?
I would focus on what they look like, the shapes, colors, etc. Their meaning probably wouldn't have crossed my mind unless it was painfully obvious.

9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?
I would most likely focus on a car that looks the best to me. Of course, I would consider price range and and mileage, but If I don't like it, I would overlook it.

10. Where would you like to see yourself in five years? Why?
I hate this question as I don't know. I don't even think a week in advance. Of course I want to do well, but I don't know what that entails. As longs as I'm healthy and enjoying myself, that's all I want.

I'm going to guess ESFP. You seem to demonstrate the primary and secondary functions of an ESFP (extroverted sensing and introverted feeling respectively) fairly clearly.

I agree with ESFP. Your Se is bursting everywhere and I also see some deep Fi values among it all. Plus inferior Ni is clear as you show clear dislike for thinking to the future.

1. During your youth (7'ish to 20), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?

I just focused on the present moment, I think. Especially in school, I would mark X's on my calendar each year to signify getting through another day. I just wanted to finish school but I never saw any future. So my future was lax in my attention. I had (and have) big ideas for the future but I don't know how to get there. I know some of what to do to make it happen, but a lot of details are lost on me.

2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you get to choose 2 elective courses. Which of following two would you pick? Why?

Hmm. I'd probably do Gym and Dance -- to redo them, especially Gym. I hated it and didn't really try, but now I see it's worth. I don't know why, but it's like... okay, sometimes I don't mind being active, you know? And Dance, I just loved being able to express myself physically, it was really fun and it opened up a whole new side to me.

3. A couple of friends call and invite you out on an outing. Which activity is most likely to tempt you to join? Why?

A nicely planned day is likely to get me out of the house, not that the activities have to be planned. I'm down for anything, but I'd love to sit around with friends and drink and do something fun, like maybe watch a movie at home or go shopping or buy food and go home and make it. I'm a bit of a homebody but I enjoy going out and doing things, it's not an introversion/extroversion thing... but I wouldn't want to go out to a movie because then you spend time with people for a few hours, yes, but you're not allowed to talk. That would suck. If you're at home, you can do whatever the fuck you want.

4. It's time for you to head off to college and start your career path. How do you decide where to go? How do you decide which major/career?

I never really decided. I put it off in favor of work, but then I decided I don't really want to go. It doesn't appeal to me even though I do see it's value. But school just isn't my thing. I would rather learn by doing as opposed to sitting at a desk or something. I've never seen myself as a cubicle job kind of person, as nice and quiet as that would be, it would also frustrate me. I'm not sure what I'd do, but I know it's not something where I'm sitting all day.

5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to. Which one do you choose and why?

I go with the person I know, assuming my friend didn't specify which cake person to go to. And if it's someone I know, then I will trust them more with what to do and what I want -- technically with what the friend wants, for this cake.

6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?

They would criticize my laziness, because I am lazy. Not to fault my enneagram, but I am a 794 (9w8) and it's an unhealthy one at that, and I guess it's kind of followed me through life. And I'd be very hurt for that because I know I'm not that lazy, I really do try. It just takes me awhile to get things done!

7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?

I'd be internally panicking but I'd go along with the friend because I love a crazy experience. You only live once, right?

8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?

I find I respond more to a lot of installation art because it makes me imagine the scene, (ie, an installation of a bedroom) it makes me imagine someone's life or circumstances or the situation, I come up with a whole thing. I also enjoy certain colors and textures of work, it appeals to me visually and draws me in. And if I'm drawn in, I'm hooked.

9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?

I just want something that isn't junky and shitty. Maybe something about the mileage and making sure all of the parts are working and stuff. And I'd also like the owner's manual because that's also an important part of the car, I believe. I don't know why but it just matters to me.

10. Where would you like to see yourself in five years? Why?

Somewhere else. I don't know when or how or why, but somewhere else making a lot of money. I tell myself that will happen and I think it will, I've been told I could make a mark on the world if I wanted to.

1. During your youth (7'ish to 20), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?

This is a little hard for me to answer, simply because from ages 13-20ish I suffered from severe depression. Pretty much every aspect of my life was lax in attention. Before that, I'd say my focus was on things I enjoyed doing and using my imagination. I loved to figure skate, go camping with my girl scout troop, reading, gymnastics.

2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you get to choose 2 elective courses. Which of following two would you pick? Why?

-Science
-P.E./Gym
-Art/Music
-History
-Math
-English

Music because it comes naturally to me, and it's something I've done my entire life. English because it had been my best subject and I love to read.

3. A couple of friends call and invite you out on an outing. Which activity is most likely to tempt you to join? Why?

Probably something like going to the beach, or going for a hike. Those are activities you can do without spending a lot of money. Going to the movies, if I'm cool with spending money is nice. Going to the bookstore will always get me out of the house, and it would be even nicer if we go to a cafe after and just hang out and chat. Just going over to their house to chill and watch movies, too. I'm not big on parties or large groups of people. I have a lot of friends who love to go to Disney, and that's just not my thing. Too overwhelming.

4. It's time for you to head off to college and start your career path. How do you decide where to go? How do you decide which major/career?

Where I decide to go would entirely depend on cost, the programs they had available, and how accessible pursuing my degree online would be since I live in the middle of nowhere. I'd narrow down what I want to do by things I'm interested in or passionate about. For example; Anthropology and Psychology. From there I'd think of the things I could do with those majors that I'd actually enjoy doing. In the end, Psychology would probably win out because it has more options I'd enjoy, whereas Anthropology really only has one.

5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to. Which one do you choose and why?

Unless they specifically told me which bakery to go to, I'd pick the one I have a good relationship with. I'm probably familiar with their work ethic, and the quality of their cakes.

6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?

The things that pop to my head are my attitude (sassy is a good descriptor for me) and my tendency to get a little bossy (at work).

7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?

As long as it doesn't involve anything illegal, and doesn't get them or someone else hurt. I'd probably let them do it and watch them make idiots of themselves.

8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?

What they make me feel, and what they mean to me. Then I'd think about what the artist was feeling or thinking at the time they made it. If it doesn't make me feel anything, I'd just focus on it's aesthetic appearance.

9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?

The mileage, shape it's it, how much it costs, and is it pretty.

10. Where would you like to see yourself in five years? Why?

Ah, the question that causes me my greatest anxiety. I have a few ideas of where I'd like to be, but I've learned that planning that far ahead never goes the way I want it to. So, I guess I just want to see myself in a place where I'm happy with my life. Regardless of how I get there, or what it turns out to look like.

sounds stereotypically esxp.

1. During your youth (7'ish to 20), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?
Asocial and escapist ones like reading and computers. I ignored most of my day to day obligations like chores and homework.

2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you get to choose 2 elective courses. Which of following two would you pick? Why?
-Art/Music - the biggest regret i have from this period of time was not perfecting a skill in the arts. i've dabbled with and became proficient with some mediums after the fact but i would've liked a chance to get invested sooner.
-Math - without getting too stereotypical, it is elegant in a concise way. i like the way it expands and reduces itself. it is one of the few subjects that makes me focus.

3. A couple of friends call and invite you out on an outing. Which activity is most likely to tempt you to join? Why?
some chill bar/music club/restaurant or night time outdoors event. something with a "mood" that causes boundaries to blur smoothly.

4. It's time for you to head off to college and start your career path. How do you decide where to go? How do you decide which major/career?

I've already been through this. I eventually settled on studying mathematics and working as a web dev for the interim between passions.

5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to. Which one do you choose and why?
whoever i think will do the better job. assuming i'm helping coordinate a wedding in the first place which is already a stretch.

6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?
the issues i'd have with those three groups would be completely different. too fairweather for the first. too apathetic for the second. too asocial for the third.

7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?
If it sounded fun maybe. Otherwise i'd tell them to go the fuck to sleep and think about it again in the sobriety of the morning.

8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?
what is being suggested and the lingering impression.

9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?
ideally i would live somewhere walkable, bikeable, and/or with good public transport.

10. Where would you like to see yourself in five years? Why?

Don't worry. I really need to fine-tune the questions. They're a bit general.

No, it's okay! I like them. I'm a little bit.. questioning my type all over again now, sigh.

Another attempt to discern my type, but with the revised questionnaire format.

1. During your youth (7'ish to 18), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?
I just focused on playing. I enjoyed Legos, video games and other activities with my friends. As for the why, because they were fun and I enjoyed the activities. I never planned for the future or even thought about it. I was impulsive and didn't think things through.

2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you are looking back over the last couple of years. What was your favorite aspect of the schooling experience and why? Favorite subject and why?
I would say it was the social interaction. I enjoyed learning but that was more passive result than my actual drive. Paying attention to the day to day happenings were the most interesting. My favorite subject? It would probably be Gym because I got to run around a bit; better than sitting in a chair for an hour strait. Extracurricular activities were the highlight of my week (sparing). I loved the rush and action.

3. A couple of friends call and invite you out to a restaurant. While there, you all are pleasantly conversing and one of your friends makes a comment that irked you. What are you're thoughts and how do you respond?
Internally I would be like "Okay...", but I probably would do anything because nothing's worth getting worked up for. At most, I would probably throw some sarcasm to counter it.

4. Your schooling is done and it's time to strike out into the world!! What sort of career do you want to go into and why?
I wouldn't know what to do. I did college but just did it just because and still don't know what I want to do. It would probably have something to do with designing aero for cars as that been my main focus through most of my life. I like to make things look good.

5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to (your friend hints to it as well). Which one do you choose and why?
I would probably choose the bakery that I like. Even though everyone hints to me to go to the other guy, that makes me more inclined to go with my initial choice. If the cake is well done, I can say "Ha! told you my way would work."

6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?
There are many things that I would be criticized over. From experience, I have been called stubborn and lack vision. I have often been called cold when others are in emotional states. Like, what do you want me to do? Comfort yourself!!

7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?
Hmmm. It depends I would weigh the pros and cons of the activity. I.e, Escort. Thoughts (Pros): Have a good time! (Cons): possibility of contracting STIs. My actual response, "If she's hot, Yeah!!". (Note: I am more cautious that my response makes me look)

8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?
I would just focus on the aesthetic production. I never focused on anything else unless it was blindingly obvious within the work.

9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?
Initially, I would choose the car that I like the look of the most (model and paint). Next, I would consider the cost and specs of it. Unless it gets less than 20mpg and/or has the possibility of breaking down often, I'm going for my main focus.

10. Yep, you now have a kid (sex of your choosing)! Years pass and they are now 15 years old. You notice their personality traits are the complete opposite of how you were when at their age. Describe how they are. Describe the possible conflicts that would arise between both of you due to differing temperaments.
Wow, we would not get along if we were the same age. She would be bookish (always reading), often takes the moral high horse stance, hates conflict, quiet; all the time. As for problems that might develop, she would probably scold me over my indifference on topics that's she's passionate for. I would probably need to teach her that sometimes one has to restrain her personal sentiments to get a desired result.
