0. Is there anything that may affect the way you answer the questions? For example, a stressful time, mental illness, medications, special life circumstances? Other useful information includes sex, age, and current state of mind.

Anxiety, depression, and paranoia attributed to a serotonin deficiency (currently taking Citalopram)

1. What is beauty? What is love?

Beauty is a shallow concept; another category for people to be sorted into. It is programmed in our psyche to be desirable. However, depending on a person's perspective, it can be anything.

Love is something (in my opinion) that is settled on. We do not choose our family, our friends are narrowed according to where we live (our true friends, not the online ones), and when two people cannot have who they want, they go for the next best thing.

2. What are your most important values?

My values depend on the situation and which perspective I am seeing. I'd say that the one, never-changing value I treasure is privacy. It is the reason I do not want friends; to not compromise my time to theirs. It is the need to be alone that keeps me from living my life the way most people do. But part of me does not want to change.

3. Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place?

Depends on the day. I'm not one of those people to use suffering as proof for the non-existence of God, because suffering is a natural part of life. I just think God (the biblical one) goes against every form of logic. However, the idea that everything happens because the universe follows laws that can be captured with a few mathematical equations, seems fishy to me. Therefore, I am not against the idea of intelligent design, and Agnostic Theist would make the most sense for myself.

4. Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?

I hate the idea of patriotism, because people on both sides are dying. Nobody wins a war, you just lose less. And, in my opinion, a country is not worth dying for. I'd rather flee or risk prison than kill or be killed for a piece of land.

Power is what people give to others. It can always be taken away.

5. What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?

Beliefs and human nature, because even though broad generalizations are always apt to appear in these discussions, it is still a diverse and complex topic that pertains to existence, desires, and the beings that keep the world going.

6. Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?

No, I am not interested in those topics.

I am focused on my imperfections, which many other people fail to see.

7. What do you think of daily chores?

Boring.

8. Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.

I like surreal works. I'm not very attached to reality, yet I do live in it. Imo, there is no reason for Rom-coms and such films to exist, because love can be experienced.

Examples of works I love: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Star Wars, Let the Right One In, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Pan's Labryinth, Harry Potter, etc.

Now despite the list above, I'd say George RR Martin is a Godsend. He doesn't believe characters are wholly good or evil, isn't afraid to kill off people, and treats romance without the rose-colored glasses. More writers like him, please.

9. What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?

I don't cry much. I'd say that I get watery eyed over sad things. I'm no different than other people in this regard.

I smile at silly/stupid things I find funny.

For example:

Tyler, the Creator & Earl Sweatshirt: Hot Ass Beat Clap - YouTube

10. Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?

I want to feel like I belong, but at the same time I'm an alien to everything normal.

11. What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?

Laziness and self-esteem issues (by 'people' I'm referring to the people closest to me)

I dislike how sensitive I am, as if I'm designed to be the most feminine guy on the planet.

12. What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?

Intelligence and deep insight.

I like how non-judgmental I can be to those whom society deems weird.

13. In what areas of your life would you like help?

Confidence, independence, socialization, and how to properly complete mundane tasks.

14. Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.

For most of my life, because my mother is smothering and brainwashed me as a child to think strangers want to hurt me.

Depression and anxiety.

15. What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?

Dislike: Arrogance, extroverted, obnoxious/nosy, antagonizing, rude, judgmental, shallow, 'bros' and such social leeches.

Like: Artistic, esoteric, original, creative, kind/gentle, humble, giving, open-minded, understanding.

I get along with anyone who makes the effort.

16. How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?

Part of me wants it because I feel like I have to, but part of me says I don't want it. I don't mind watching porn or fantasizing, but I do not want to be a part of any sexual acts.

I'd want a partner to be all those things I said in question 15 for the 'like' section.

17. If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?

Education, safety, and socialization. I'd take every measure possible to keep the child happy and healthy.

18. A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?

Ask them why they feel that way. If the answer is stupid, either point it out or leave it alone, depending on my mood. If it makes sense, then just say "oh okay. I get you."

19. Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.

I don't really have one. I can fit in if I have to, even though it may seem unnatural.

People are people; complex and diverse with common biological functions.

Media manipulation.

20. How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?

Friends = lack of privacy and having to play a role.

I would choose them based on common interests if I wanted to socialize.

21. How do you behave around strangers?

Timid and awkward. I'm extremely shy.

Your enneagram is in the 4 - 5 area. I think most of your description points to 4w5. Your MBTI is INFJ.

I had a feeling that might be (narrowed it down from IXFX to INF), but still I have to ask, how do you know?

Haha. I think my biggest doubt is that INFJ's are so rare. I don't imagine I'm that special.

I don't know, per se. I deduced it from your description. You report severe introversion, a need for privacy, and a-social tendencies. Your Intuition is obvious. But it was hard to differentiate INFJ from INFP, or even INTP, in your description. This -
"Like: Artistic, esoteric, original, creative, kind/gentle, humble, giving, open-minded, understanding."
was very helpful. INFP remains a secondary possibility. The difference between INFJ and INFP can hinge upon simple things. INFJ may go more towards the various artistic disciplines while INFP more toward language arts.

I still have questions about some of your responses, such as, "In what areas of your life would you like help? Confidence, independence, socialization, and how to properly complete mundane tasks." This sounds more INFP to me, simply because lacking things like confidence an independence is more of an INFP quality, while INFJs aren't lacking in independence.

I actually saw quite a bit of Ni-Fe in his answers. And the conversations that he talked about, his hobbies etc, all indicates that he uses Ni-Fe.
He also describes himself as non-judgemental, INFJs are dominant perceivers, which explains his non-judgementalness. Whereas INFPs who often appear easygoing on the surface are actually much more judgemental than INFJ, they are dominant judgers after all. And the way he described beauty, he has a very open-ended way of viewing beauty, he is a perceiving dom.
And lacking things like confidence and independence only indicates that he has anxiety, it doesn't really indicate whether he is INFJ or INFP.

Btw OP...... You might want to look at the difference between inferior Se vs inferior Te.

Our inferior function is how we act when we are feeling stressed. INFJs use inferior Se while INFPs use inferior Te.

INFJ's stressed reaction: One common way to tell that INFJs are feeling stressed is when they limit their options to just one. They might insist there is only one solution to a problem. Others become extremely critical or angry, often blaming people for their troubles. Some INFJs accuse other people of failing to help, while some will make even the simplest task unnecessarily complex. There can be paradoxical behavior: some INFJs might extravert a great deal, saying harsh things with little regard for the feelings of others. In contrast, some INFJs can become rather introspective and shut themselves off from the world or outside help. Still other INFJs set unrealistic goals for themselves, which just makes matters worse. Finally, some INFJs might eat or drink too much.

INFP's stressed reaction: Some signs include losing confidence in their self-worth or contributions to the group, having unrealistic expectations from situations or people, and seeming to be moody and hypersensitive. Some INFPs seem to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, or become discouraged or lose heart. Others appear to take on the role of martyr, acting as if no one loves or cares for them. INFPs have reported feeling cut off from all that is important to them when they are feeling stressed.

And this tumblr below is written by an INFP. The INFP was describing the differences between Fe and Fi:

INFP/INFJ Social Distinctions Continued

Good article overall. There is an issue with this: "I read once (okay, several times) that INFPs aren’t the type to carry grudges. I’m sorry, but unless I’m the exception, I carry grudges for years and everyone who knows me is well aware of this." I agree that Si-tertiary is a begrudging part of the INFP that comes in play when the INFP swallows their emotions in attempt not to be seen as unlikable. However, it always bugs me when someone states that a principle isn't true simply because it doesn't apply to them or to someone they've known for years. So even though I generally agree with that statement, the logic is overly subjective.

It also depends on the INFP's degree of mental health. INFPs can be some of the most charming and socially disarming individuals you will ever meet. However, if they lose self-esteem and self-confidence, they start to repress emotions and become more socially manipulative. If this habit carries on for years, then tertiary Si may eventually make the person downright difficult to live with as they become grumpier and more curmudgeonly, even exploding in fits of rage at times.

Sorry, but I relate to both : (

INFJ or INFP Test - CelebrityTypes.com

1) Both are important, but I chose sincerity because if you do not let someone know how you truly feel about something, both of you will end up hurt.

2) Of course there are differences in people's values but in the end I think that we are all one; all looking for the same thing. We all want to be happy, healthy, and see our kids do great things.

3) Are generally in need of a helping hand. There needs to be a balance of logic and compassion, not one over the other.

4) Different shades of grey. I do not believe humans are always just one way in every situation.

5) There are certain acts that are wrongful, but which can be justified in service of an overall goal. There is always an exception to the rule.

6) I appreciate logic as a building block - a stepping stone to something greater. But by itself it can never be more than a tool.

7) If I have to criticize others I prefer to sandwich the criticism between positive feedback for other tasks.

8) I cherish visiting foreign countries, particularly exotic and underexposed ones. It is interesting to see how people live in different parts of the world.

9) Be driven by an inner vision about the overall good of the organization. I agree with both, but this is more important. And the subordinates can always aspire to be like their leader without any interference.

10) Other people seem to be cut out for a 9-5 corporate zombie routine, and it sometimes makes me feel like a space alien that I just don't fit in. Both, but this one hit home a bit more.

11) We must all try to fit in and then pursue our goals and individuality from there. I think rebels come off as trying too hard, so it's probably best for people to find individuality through trial and error. I didn't become me until I failed socially.

12) When empathizing with others, I tend to find that I can help them the most if I surrender myself completely to their inner experience without judging them or putting words in their mouths. Both, but I tend to ask people what they are feeling and why and then let them tell me. Jumping to conclusions rarely works out.

13) I believe that there is a finite amount of ideas going around, which are being expressed in various ways. Each expression has a different nuance, but at the end of the day, they are the same ideas phrased differently. Sadness, depression, melancholy; happiness, joy, love.

14) Of course children are less corrupted, but in the end I prefer adults because they have access to the full range of human emotion.

15) People who patronize me by letting me know how they think I ought to be.

16) Compared to other people in my line of work, I tend to gravitate towards fiction. While I am also sympathetic to theory and non-fiction, I find that fiction is where it gets really exciting.

17) I have the soul of a sage. I'm too pessimistic to be innocent.

INFJ (along with INTJ) is a very independent type. So what do you mean when you say you need help with independence?

I'm dependent on my family. I am malleable to what they want, and want to do what it takes to make them proud. I need to learn to do things for myself and what makes me happy (whatever that may be).

EDIT:

A post from Reddit (I copied my questionnaire and posted it to r/mbti and r/my_mbti_type):

"I clicked the link and read everything. Someone else posted INFJ. I think you might be an INTJ. Possibly an INTP but I don't think so.

Going off the old school XXXX typing method: you value privacy (I), all your answers are abstract/conceptual as fuck (N), your answers also categorize/describe things in a logical and orderly way (T), and you're quick to place value judgements on everything from romantic comedies to nationalism as an enduring human injustice (J).

Going off the function stack method of typing: you perceive the "true nature of things" in your mind's eye (Ni), you explain what that true nature is outwardly in a structured/ordered fashion (Te - whatever the fuck you are, Te is definitely in your stack), you're all fucked up inside from abuse and moreover you conceptualize your feelings and morals as belonging to you rather than belonging to everyone (Fi), and your text doesn't reveal anything to indicate a preference for Se/Si. That alone tells me whatever it is, Se or Si, it's probably dead last on your function stack. Actually now that I think about it, the lack of physical descriptors and an admiration for the artistic/creative is exactly what Se as a 4th function looks like.

My verdict: you're an INTJ who is more passionate about social/political issues than science. You have a big heart and would benefit from overcoming some psychological troubles. You will probably read some articles about INTJs to see if you fit the description. You'll see all the "cold and heartless" stuff and think it isn't you. But fun fact - INTJs are actually very emotional people, more emotional than other xNTx types (except maybe ENTP)."

That makes sense, as the INFJ type finds it difficult to attain independence in the external world. But internally they are very independent.

I would go with this because INFJ is displayed more prominently in the OP while INFP is rather secondary to it.

But since that Reddit post about INTJ I'm really confused.

"But internally they are very independent."

Ah, okay.

The responder is foul-mouthed as all "fuck." And he has confused tertiary Ti with something Te-ish about your post. Fe is also structured and ordered, while Ti is internally structured and ordered. You have merely reflected your Ti internal structuring in your post.
