People and there emotions do tend to stress, exhaust, bore and frighten me. But The only I get the more i recognize that this is unhealthy behavior. Also you don't have to be comfortable around people to realize their worth and being "small" can make you very aware that you are not the center of the world and that there may be something higher than yourself. Even if contributing or interacting with it scares you.
and if you don't relate to the bad tendencies of 5, you're not a 5, because that's most of what the Enneagram is about.

    I skimmed, mea culpa.
anyway, I still think you exhibit a world view much more similar to a 9 or a 2. 5s are much more defined by their seperateness and tendency to want to hoard and isolate themselves from the rest of the world.

For some reason Elfboy being a pretty Intuitive ESTJ makes more sense to me than it should have. I just don't get the feeling that he has Si as an inferior, because the first thing I've noticed about him was how he talks about various sense impressions. Such as how people generally come across as being "NF"ish or whatever. Then again in my mind people who talk a lot about "auras" are by default Si-Ne types. It's probably why I find it amusing that someone would type him as being a Se dom.

I'm not exactly sure why I singled Elfboy out though, what I perceive is extremely arbitrary and random.

Shut up. I'm a pimp, my uncle told me to keep my pimp hand strong. I'm fairly sure you don't want to get in the backside of that now don't you?

On another note, here's a funny observation I've made recently: people generally get more upset when I'm "mistyped" and I ask for their alternative typing opinions than they would be if I didn't even ask in the first place. The same seems to apply for other members when they seek advice on their types as well. If someone wants your input, it's very foolish to get angry, because the person asking clearly takes at least some value in your own opinions.

As an alternative perspective, let's listen to the wise words of Ken Wilber:
"The real intent of my writing is not to say, you must think in this way. The real intent is: here are some of the many important facets of this extraordinary Kosmos; have you thought about including them in your own worldview? My work is an attempt to make room in the Kosmos for all of the dimensions, levels, domains, waves, memes, modes, individuals, cultures, and so on ad infinitum. I have one major rule: Everybody is right. More specifically, everybody — including me — has some important pieces of truth, and all of those pieces need to be honored, cherished, and included in a more gracious, spacious, and compassionate embrace."

Hubris is a funny thing. But yes its a well observed behaviour that people enjoy giving opinion on their own terms; not at request. It's understandable, even the most regimented of us are a bag of whims and all it takes is a single catalyst to start the ball rolling.

To be put on a spot is a challenge, which isn't to say that is what you did to others, but people can interpret information in any number of ways and the less rational the more they imprint unspoken information and attach motive where none exists.

We all have that tendency I notice, or at the least I have it and rue it like a disease of the mind. But we can employ rationalisation tactics to control ourselves. Tell ourselves that we do this FOR something or for SOMEONE or perhaps for everyone or for ourselves or some other ineffable purpose.

It's a kind of insanity, as all human beings are to exist as a creature aware of it's own mortal coil and, (at least some), possessing a notion of how small they are in a larger perspective, so a type of delusion is needed to control and relax, to feel purpose and justification in existence.

It is better than apathy I suppose.
'Consciousness is not simply a sensory-perceptual affair, a matter of mental imagery, as the contents of our mind would have us believe. It is deeply enmeshed with the brain mechanisms that automatically promote action readiness' - Jaak Panksepp

After all, Elf and Speed are the renowned typing experts of the forum, so trust their judgment I will.
I must submit to their greater wisdom and admit that I'am an INTP 5w6 so/sp!
