You lead by making yourself known. Maybe you're a help to others.
In times of trouble, you avoid lack of guidance and integrate into the trust of your friends. These 2 types will make you very social, especially in this order.
Fear of destruction will rise as a last resort and prevent others from exploiting you should you be separated from their support.
1. Do you see yourself as a person desiring the attention of everyone around you and work hard to achieve this ideal, or do you see yourself as a more strategic, introspective, reserved power-seeker seizing opportunities at the right moment and with diligent work?
2. Is your extroversion and need for attention tempered by a more melancholic, sensitive side?
That just makes you all the more fearful.
@Alea_iacta_est I read that 4, 1 and 5 were introverted enneagrams. How could an introverted type be fundamentally guided by a fear of insignificance?
4, 5, and 9 are the usual introverted Enneatypes (1 is in the ambivert-ish complying triad). 4s fear internal insignificance, that they aren't unique among the crowd, that they don't possess a gift or a mysterious quirk that sets them apart from others. It's very elitist-oriented.
In a way I guess, a Type 3 fears external insignificance, as if they were worth nothing to anybody.
