Actually it's one from 2,3,4 (heart fix/shame), one from 5,6,7 (head fix/anxiety), and one from 8,9,1 (gut fix/anger)

8-7-2

8-7-3

I'm an 873 SO/SP, Thanks for helping me with the principles behind enneagram ;)

Since 8-7-3 is broken down as "Well truly, the correct way to order the tritype would be through the way you cope with stress or problems. Since 3-7-8 is a triple assertive type, let's break down these 3 types to figure out which assertive coping mechanism you use predominantly and place it in that order. If you are predominantly an 8, you will lead your assertion with lust, meaning that your assertion will be extremely intense and noticeable, and then if that fails you will fallback on the 7 assertive coping mechanism of utter straightforwardness laced with brutal criticism, and if that were to fail you would fall back on the 3 and attempt to be extremely deceitful and mentally break the problem through manipulation and political methods without any guilt." How would 8-7-2 be broken down?

8-7-2 is assertive/assertive/complying

8 would still rule with lust as mentioned (ID driven)
7 would still rule with criticism as mentioned (ID driven)
2 would try and compromise to help stop the conflict. (Super-Ego driven)

So the 872 would reach a political compromise to end a conflict, while an 873 wouldn't. If two people where in a conflict and one person made the other feel good about themselves while winning the conflict it would be considered an 873 move. An 872 in the other hand would decide to settle in the middle of what both parties wanted. If I'm right I'm an 873

873, when reaching the coping mechanism of 3 after 8 and 7 have failed, would politic his or her way to victory, so yes. The 873 would still be fairly angry that they had to resort to such measures however, as they intended to win outright.

I'm an 873 do you have an article on you that breaks down the enneagram to Id, Ego and Super Ego?
