    Default Instinctual Variant test?

Would someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of a good instinctual variant test, or other method of determining it? I have also seen people with three number enneagrams? Is this like a secondary and tertiary thing? I've only done a basic test both online and in a book. I would love to go a bit deeper with it.

    Thanks!

    I'd be interested, too.

This is the only test I can think of: http://similarminds.com/variant.html

But of course, I consistently get sx/so on this test so I can't say much for it's reliability. Might as well try anything once though.

I think this website provides from pretty good info on each instinct and how each of the 6 stackings look: http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...tual-Stackings
And then this website shows how your instinctual stacking influences your e-type: http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...tual-Stackings (I would mainly look at what Naranjo says but I think the Oceanmoonshine profiles are pretty nifty)

Also if you google "type X maitri" you should get a result on PerC titled along the lines of "Type X: Excerpts from Maitri" where X is in place of one of the 9 e-types. The result should look something like this (I'll paste the e7 one as an example): http://personalitycafe.com/type-7-fo...ts-maitri.html

It's really detailed and I like it.

    Hope this helps.

Oh, I forgot to respond to this part. If you're referring to how some people have like "729" as their listed e-type, it's referring to the tritype theory. I'm not too well-immersed in it but the gist of it is that we all have "fix" types for each triad. If you're not familiar with this triad, heart types (2, 3, 4) deal with shame/self-hate, head types (5, 6, 7) deal with fear/anxiety, and gut types (8, 9, 1) deal with rage/anger. So for example, my tritype is 729, meaning my core type - my main type - is 7w6 but my heart fix is 2w3 and my gut fix is 9w1. If you want to read more about how they make up for shame/anxiety/anger, then you can read the section titled "The Centers" here: http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/intro.asp

There are other kinds of triads too, but they don't revolve around your tritype as much. In tritype theory, each of your types has to be from a separate triad. For example, 765 isn't a possible tritype because they're all head types. 249 isn't a possible tritype either because, even though 2 and 9 are from separate triads, 4 is also a heart type like 2. You can read about the other triads here: http://personalitycafe.com/articles/...am-triads.html

There's also an object relations triad not mentioned in that link you can read about here: http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/ar...p#.Ulsx8lC-2uI
