    Default Whats my type?

    Question:

I am here to get a better idea of what typology I am. I have for some time heard some talk about this stuff and think it sounds fascinating. I have done some research of my own but think this sounds like a pretty right on spot to figuer this shit out.
    Some insight would be great!

    OK.

    Description of self:

*I am a relativity lazy however a very ambitious and creative person.
*I like to sometimes sit around and do nothing but think, plan and come up with fun ideas. but I also like to do things.
    * I love adventure! I love creating things! I love anything productive and interesting anything!
*I can be overly enthusiastic at times.
*I have a hard time understanding peoples needs.
    * I can't stand people who have boring dispositions or just want to have small talk about pointless bullshit. It bothers me.
    *I hate routine.
    * I am very interested in many things and have a very hard time deciding on a career.
*I am unconsciously but I think I am starting to notice, consciously a very competitive person. However would never stoop to being a complete ass-jerk of human to fulfill my desires and goals.
    * I am usually very good at starting projects and finishing them them.
*I consider my self 80 percent of the time, very very self confident in my skills. and ability's to do things.
    * I get bored by things relatively fast.
    * I like people but sometimes like being with my self. Mostly because human blabble and complaining is very annoying to me.
    * I like to read, however usually only how to books or comic books.
    * i am somewhat easily annoyed by overly conventional people. Mostly due to an inflexible sense of everything! Or at least it seems like it.
    * I hate texting!
    * I have a not so hard time getting girlfriends, but keeping them is a different story.
    * I fucking hate drama! With a capitol 'FUCKING'
    *love nature and animals!
*slightly feel better in a working situation that involves high risk or constant stimulation of some kind.
    * find the female body ridiculously attractive.
*Usually am very tactical in my approach to dealing with business matters.
*Enjoy composing music. and has been told is good at it!
    * Easily make friends, but don't necessarily want them. Unless they want to either do something fun, or creative. Or play video games!
    *Loves trying new things!
*love eating food, drinking and having a good time!
    * Is good at accomplishing set goals for self.
    * am very good at remembering where things are and what they are.
*joking around, getting things done, whipping up ideas and asking 'how have you been/what have you been up to and then getting response, is really all the communication with people I need.
    * I don't like being told what to do.
    * I am quiet fearless in most matter.
    * is more interested in fun careers than boring careers that make little money and offer security.

Favorite activity: Skateboarding, bowling, making comic books/mix tapes, cooking, anything outdoors, video production, recording tape cassettes of music, performing arts/composing, adventure! starting teams/clubs, learning anything new! playing sports, poker, going on fishing trips, etc...

Wants to learn how to: surf, ski, skydive, use 3-d animation and fly an airplane.

also wants to study animal science and hopefully one day aid in a research team!

I've heard, ENTJ, ENTP, ESTP, INTP, INFP, ISFJ, ISTP they all make very little sense to me.

I know that it has something to do with career also. here is a good idea of careers I think would be fun.

I would enjoy a career as a: pilot, chef, claymation animator, adventurer, field scientist, comic book creator, EMT, TV producer. cartoon creator, musician/composer, park ranger, etc...

    they all sound good.

I get pretty good grades so I think I might be able to pull one of these off with ease.

    fuck you get the idea.

    Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums lync 123,

Judging by your description you definitely sound like an EP, mostly ENFP. Would you say that the ENFP description fits you at all? What about the other EP descriptions?

I was actually thinking some ESxP type. I know you said though that ESTP didn't make much sense to you though? Which parts of the description?

Writing style seems quick, to the point, and factual. I could see dominant Se.

Some things I saw in your description that could be suggestive of dom. Se :

*The activites and careers that appeal to you mostly have an active, practical component, along with a sense of adventure. This sounds very SP temperament. Also you mention you were interested in fun careers and preferred those to careers offering security. Everyone seeks both fun and security but I think SJs would be more inclined to sacrifice some fun if it meant gaining security. NTs I think would be more inclined towards careers that are mentally stimulating and provide a sense of mastery. NFs, I think would be more into seeking something personally meaningful or something serving the larger society.

*ESxPs tend to be doers but don't like being told what to do. They tend to be bold and fearless in the face of new challenges.

*slightly feel better in a working situation that involves high risk or constant stimulation of some kind.

*Good at remembering where things are and what they are. This doesn't come as naturally to N types.

*joking around, getting things done, whipping up ideas and asking 'how have you been/what have you been up to and then getting response, is really all the communication with people I need.
This is sounds consistent with dom. Se. Intuitives are not the only ones whipping up ideas. Are your ideas more concrete (S) or abstract (N)?

    Some other things:

    * I have a not so hard time getting girlfriends, but keeping them is a different story.
If you're an extravert, you might find it easier to approach girls and ask them out than an introvert would. Why do you have trouble keeping them? Is it fear of committent? I think P types are more likely to struggle with that.

*Hating routine could apply to lots of types but I see SPs mentioning that alot. I also see it with dominant Ne types and to a lesser extent other intuitives. SJs seem to be the most tolerant of routine but even they don't necessarily like or want it all the time.

    *Loves trying new things!
This applies to a large number of types. Overall SPs and Ns tend to be more open to new experiences than SJs would but you also hear alot of SJs enjoying this as well.

*love eating food, drinking and having a good time!
Again, this applies to many types.

    * Is good at accomplishing set goals for self.
This does sound more J but I have noticed that ESxPs seem to have an easier time at it than other Ps. I think its because of the practical, action orientedness that dom. Se brings.

    * find the female body ridiculously attractive.
    Not type related

*I am a relativity lazy however a very ambitious and creative person.
Applies to lots of types. I know other dom. Se types with a similar mindset.

Overall, I lean more towards ESTP than ESFP. I think ESTPs would struggle more understanding peoples' needs and have a somewhat more competitive drive.

you seem like either an ENFP (70% sure) or an ENTJ
    your enneagram seems like either:
    1) 8w7
    2) 8w9
    3) 7w8
(ordered from most to least likely)

hahaha. Ok. Well Mr/or Ms. SuchIrony, in answer to your questions.

    Question on Ideas (S) (N):
My ideas tend to be very concrete with a tinge of imagination.
    EG:
I usually am only interested in ideas that will for a fact work! or at least can be followed through on.
I don't like hearing totally 'never will happen!' ideas just to hear them. Sure I'm open to experimentation, exploration and innovation of ideas, however give me some solid proof that they will work first and what they will work for.

Question on girlfriends: I just get bored of girls quickly! I have experienced that lots of girls for the most part are very needy, especially in regards to emotional space. I have experienced that girls need lots of emotional attention, which I honestly don't have much to give. haha. I mean, sure you are a knock out! but do I need to tell you that every fucking day?
I like my freedom to much to keep a girlfriend for a long time. I'm sure my mentality on the subject will change some day.

I guess my main struggle with or question with this 'MBTI' system is it seems like anyone could be any of these types on a given day. I have a hard time understanding that aspect of it.

Thought on SJ's: I have heard that SJ's like boring office jobs and bullshit pencil pushing work. Count me out people! I could be mistaken on my assumption of SJ's here, or for lack of better words, hearsay about the subject.

SP sound's about right for me.
However SP's are the doers Right? Sure I'm a 'Doer' in regards to I'd rather do something than do nothing, but there are days that I don't want to do anything but eat Cheetos, drink soda and watch TV. It seems like the MBTI system works in a very small or general basis in regards to a persons overall personality. It gives you an outline. I have only done minimal research on the subject though, so I could be wrong.

Question, What is the difference between ESTP and ENFP?

    Hmm... Any other ideas?

well, from a strictly cognitive standpoint, they are exact opposites in terms of functional preference
ENFPs: Ne Fi Te Si Ni Fe Ti Se
ESTPs: Se Ti Fe Ni Si Te Fi Ne
but if you're new to MBTI, that probably doesn't mean much to you.
as far as personality is concerned, they tend to be very similar though. both types are energentic, extremely fun loving and usually very confident. some of your interests are very feminine and artistic, which makes me lean more F than T. my best guess now is that you could be an ESFP. that would be like an ESTP, but with a warmer side and a soft spot for nature, small animals, babies and small children (Introverted Feeling types, FPs, love little kids and things and anything that is cute, spontaneous and creative)

Hmm... That is kinda interesting Mr. Elfboy.
I think that this is the first time I have heard my self in relation to ESFP. I guess it could be true. Hmm...

I think that one of my main things with 'MBTI' is it is suppose to be aimed not only to outline the general personality of a person but also a good way of choosing a career? Or at least giving you a general direction of a career choose. Correct?

Also I wouldn't say I'm an extremely warm person, definitely not cold, but not warm. I really like my emotional space and have a hard time naturally expressing my feelings about things, or just care not to. I'm internally quiet an optimist. I also could honestly care less about how someone is feeling if it is in relation to a small fry of a problem. I think it is a relatively unimportant, pointless and non constructive, waste of energy to express a weak sentiment. Unless it is of severe nature.
I mean sure if a person is having a bad day or doesn't like their job, ok. I don't need to fucking hear it though. I mean Christ, you have water to drink and food to eat, probably. Unless you are in some place that is poverty ridden. I just don't need to hear little petty problems of people. I mean seriously, do you need to tell everyone in the freaking world you are having a complete bitch fest of a week or day. I feel like there are more simple ways of dealing with problems and more constructive ways of thinking and keeping positive.
    EG:
If you don't like your job, work harder and get another one. Don't complain like a little whinny baby. People who work hard and are passionate get what they want! Also being naturally friendly and interested in others doesn't hurt.

*I think in regards to chooses and ability I have a very strong mind! I think that is more T than F. Correct?

Yes, sure I love animals and nature, but I feel like it is a human thing to naturally care for your environment or at least want to aid in some way. I figuer you might as well do something, as opposed to doing nothing! Plus, animal conservation and nature conservation= Adventures and learning!

    Anyways.
I have a few questions for you Mr. Elfboy and anyone else willing to help give me some answers.

Question #1- Enneagram? Please, tell me more.

Question #2- What is the difference between ESTP and ESFP?

Question #3- what are the fundamental differences between (F) and (T)?

    Any ideas?

well, ESFPs have introverted feeling (Fi) which doesn't work the same way as extroverted feeling (Fe).
    Fi deals primarily with
    - creative fantasy (FP types are frequently interested in mythology, anime and other things that deal with fantasy)
    - personal values (as opposed to group values)
    - artistic expression
    - getting "vibes" from people
    - feeling connected with nature
    - bonding with small animals and children (Fe users do this too, but in a different way)

    Differences between T and F
    - first off, T and F are NOT correlated with intelligence (although S and N are, but not directly)
    - Ts make decisions objectively, based on logic and data. Fs make decisions more subjectively and come to conclusions more quickly, but don't frequently feel the need to go searching for large amounts of data.
    - also, about 60% of women are F and about 60% of men are T.
    - T and F don't have to do with emotions. Ts care just as much about people as Fs do, but they tend to be less comfortable expressing it

Enneagram is your basic fears, motivations and desires. You have your basic type and one adjacent number on the side that adds another dimension to your type. this is called your wing. for instance a type 8 can be either an 8 with a 7 wing (8w7) or an 8 with a 9 wing (8w9).

ESTPs have introverted thinking (Ti) which deals more with technical skills, logical reasoning and taking something apart to figure out how it works before putting it back together (not just physical things, but various intellectual topics like economics). I'd recommend researching all the cognitive funcitons though. I'm certainly not an expert on them.
