And, as I said to you before, Speedy, I've pretty much always thought I was sx/so, and our conversation about it solidified that conviction.
You can compare the 5w6 Sx/So and the 6w5 Sx/So if you want.

I think I'd have to see an INTJ 5w6 sx/so vs an INTJ 6w5 sx/so for this exercise to be that useful...

I'm not sure I know any INTJ 5w6 Sx/So. But maybe if you compare an INFJ 5w6 Sx/So (Trotsky) with and INFJ 6w5 Sx/So (Hitler)?

    Hmm... interesting thought...

It's worth checking out, but I do think the Te/Fi-Fe/Te differences will come into play.

That, and, well, for some reason, I'm afraid it might be a little difficult to overcome the desire to not side with Hitler on that one...

Also, Hitchens is often typed as INTJ 6w5 sx/so, no?

You mean Christopher Hitchens? He's often typed as a 6, but not Sx/So.

It's above all about the differences between the two styles. 5w6 are more controlled than 6w5 who are more reactive. They compartimentalize better their time and energy and hierarchize better their priorities. They withdrawn from social pressure and don't sabote ther success like 6w5s do, they have less problems with procrasination.

What's his usual instinctual variant? So/Sx?

Well, when it comes down to degree, this becomes difficult.

To some degree, I am all those things that you say a 6w5 is; I would suppose, though, so are many 5w6s.

I've actually looked at some of those interviews (Ken Shamrock and Brian Eno), and Eno is a lot like how I think I probably come across -- Shamrock: not at all. Of course, Shamrock is an idiot and Eno is intelligent, so that might explain a good deal of that. I think Eno has certain mannerisms that are like mine, though. A certain "looking inward", trying to get just the right word, very thoughtful. And I can see why he's a 5w6 instead of 6w5.

I'll check a few more of those out...

    I'm guessing 6w5.

    @Zarathustra
Which of these makes more sense for you (if any)?
    Fives and Sixes
Fives and sixes can both be intellectuals. Fives can look to logic and reason as a system to help make them better prepared and informed to deal with the world. Due to their detachment, fives are naturally drawn to the life of the mind. Sixes look to reason as an authority and can be overzealous in their faith in the certainty of reason. For this reason, the two types can seem similar. In general, fives are more of a "schizoid" personality type, opting for non-involvement. Sixes by contrast have more of a "paranoid" personality type. Fives are drawn to intellectualism to give them a source of knowledge, sixes are drawn to intellectualism to give them certainty that their thought processes are correct. Fives tend to be more independent, but also have greater difficulty navigating the social realm. Sixes are naturally affiliative, wanting reassurance and being concerned with what others think. Both can be pessimistic and complaining, but sixes fluctuate between wanting the support of others and not trusting their motives. Fives are more of your survivalist type, wanting to maintain their autonomy and privacy as much as possible.

I second this. I have multiple friends who are INTJ 5s (two of which are Sx-dominant), and you do not have the same vibe as them.
