    I'd love to hear his reasons. From what you've posted, you do not sound like an INTJ.

    Edit: Also, NFs can be interested in science/math/engineering too. Believe me. I was that type of NF.

    IIRC, the main crux of why I'm an INTJ is the way I use Te more than Ti. Ti seeks to gain knowledge for the sake of knowledge. I tend to gain knowledge not for the sake of knowledge in itself, I tend to gain knowledge so that I will be aptly prepared for the future. That seems to show that I use more Te than Ti. I'm kinda shocked by the overwhelming INFJ response I'm getting lol. Most people tend to peg me as an INTJ (on the INFJ forum, of course. The INTJ forum tends to think I have to much F for them so I get INFJ from them lol) I tend to see Fe as a function that is based around the accommodation of other people, and that's something I really don't believe. The only person in life that you HAVE to take care of is yourself and you really can't help anybody if you're always bending over backwards to make them "feel" better. Sometimes tough love is what you need.

    also, I know that NF can be interested in anything they turn their mind too.

    INTJ
    * Able to absorb extremely complex theoretical and complex material
    * Driven to create order and structure from theoretical abstractions
    * Supreme strategists
    * Future-oriented
    * See the global, "big picture"
    * Strong insights and intuitions, which they trust implicitly
    * Value their own opinions over others
    * Love difficult theoretical challenges
    * Bored when dealing with mundane routine
    * Value knowledge and efficiency
    * Have no patience with inefficiency and confusion
    * Have very high standards for performance, which they apply to themselves most strongly
    * Reserved and detached from others
    * Calm, collected and analytical
    * Extremely logical and rational
    * Original and independent
    * Natural leaders, but will follow those they can fully support
    * Creative, ingenious, innovative, and resourceful
    * Work best alone, and prefer to work alone

    INFJ
    * Intuitively understand people and situations
    * Idealistic
    * Highly principled
    * Complex and deep
    * Natural leaders
    * Sensitive and compassionate towards people
    * Service-oriented
    * Future-oriented
    * Value deep, authentic relationships
    * Reserved about expressing their true selves
    * Dislike dealing with details unless they enhance or promote their vision
    * Constantly seeking meaning and purpose in everything
    * Creative and visionary
    * Intense and tightly-wound
    * Can work logically and rationally - use their intuition to understand the goal and work backwards towards it

    Italics = Slightly to usually
    Bold = Definitely.

    Also, about the sensitive to other people thing: I can be sensitive, I usually am now, but I can turn that off rather quickly. Also, my ennegram type is probably 5w6 with a Sx/Sp/so stacking. 5w4 is possible though. Also, I'm not very emotionally affected by a lot of things. I can see a mountain or landscape that most people would call beautiful and I would not see what the big deal is. Music, though, can get to me every time. IRL, my friends tend to see me as unemotional or emotional in a different way. I supposedly can be very charismatic, quite a few people have told me that I should be a preacher or a public speaker.

    Well, he isn't really as outwardly concerned as he appears in the OP -- he wrote the title halfway in jest. Most people see him as "cold" and "distant" according to his Nohari. Then there's the fact that according to him his intellectual interests, while broad, are more rooted on what he feels he will need down the road, rather than idle curiosity -- Te, rather than Ti. Be careful not to fall in the trap of typing him a Feeler just because he appears Feeling -- Thinkers have feeling functions and Feelers have thinking functions. INTJs are actually the T type most likely to be emotional (ISTJs have Fi in the same position, but oddly they seem less likely to have it developed).

    INFJ. With strong Ni and Ti, they can appear "cold" and "distant". From what I gather INFJs seem the most T-ish of the F's.

    No, no, no, I didn't assume he was a feeler. I just didn't think he sounded like an INTJ. It's possible.
