    Default INXJ

So, I've tested border line F/T for a long time. I'm not sure what I am, but I thought the results were interesting. My siblings also do the same flipping back and forth as well. I'm very fascinated. I thought I'd post the results, so I could obtain some feedback. I know what I think, but an extra set of eyes doesn't hurt.

Do not trust the tests. After you learn even a bit about MBTI, it is difficult to take them with any sort of objectivity. If I take any test now, or even several months back, I always get a result of INTJ. Even converting my Big Five results to MBTI twice leaded to INTJ. But if I read the descriptions for the two, and also read about the functions, I know these results are incorrect.

Ne-Monster has some cognitive functions threads going; you should look at those. Going through it I couldn't relate to Te much at all, but Ti was on the mark.

Here's Ne-Monster's meta-thread: How well do you use the various functions?

I totally agree with you, except that I don't trust cognitive tests much either, they can only tell you what you already know. I'm not so sure about the paid tests though, they're probably a bit more accurate.

I don't trust the cognitive tests either, but reading about the functions helped me out a lot. You can know you "think," but you may not know the difference between the way the introverted and extraverted preferences present themselves. INFJs can build strong Ti, but I don't believe I've seen one with strong Te (could be some though), so there should be a vital difference that one can pick up on right away.

Oddly, do you use Fe + Ti or Fi + Te? Perhaps that's a better distinction.

It's equally possible that you are INXJ.

Let me investigate the functions more and I'll get back to you on this.
