What's your Enneagram Thursday? My INFP boyfriend is a Nine, and I couldn't help but notice the Sexual subtype description:
Sexual Nines attempt to merge with other people and take on their motivations. They are extraordinarily empathetic and intuitive, but may forget about their own needs.

It could explain a lot of the INFP shape-shifting I've seen, or at least why INFPs in general seem the most common type to be confused about their type. But it's just a theory after all.

basically i think i just think infp because it's that type that's confused the most it seems...and you're artistic and a great writer...but so in infj...but it seems infj's are able to identify more easily with the description than infp's...so with my very limited understanding and instinct and not quite knowing you well enough...i say infp...for now

I think you've developed an external J due to life's demands to be more organized, decisive, etc. I've noticed many INFPs have and thus test and identify superficially with INFJ despite not being cognitively like an INFJ at all.

i just did one of my things with a co-worker

Random guy
" Nick is one cool cat "

Glib avery coming in 3-2-1
"Yeah, but he won is coolness over time. He had glasses that could see into the future and braces as a kid"

ENFJ comes in " Analyzing people again? "

Random guy
" Nick, is he right? "

Nick " I didn't have braces "

Me " So you did have glasses? "

Nick*nods and goes back to work*

Excellent display of Fi and Si
I am renowned for my memory and detective skills
telling if someone is lying, not caring for social graces while being graceful and social
sensitive and glib - live and let live perfectionist
hmmm

I dunno bout the Nick fellow, but I would soundly bristle at that sort of out-loud personal speculation.

It is just the sort of thing I would think about someone, but not say out loud to a room of people. It is also the sort of thing I would consider telling a close confidant, but would have to weigh it against coming off as a presumptuous know-it-all horse's ass.

Mixed bag with you regardless of type conclusion. Question: do you want closure on this? If so, why? That in itself might answer the type question.

I'm that way too. I talk a lot in the classroom and other big group situations. However, I become quiet if the room is full of like 60+ people.

because its projection and not deduction or actual reasoning
not a fault on your behalf - but a knee-jerk human reaction

what reasoning do you have behind this - very interesting

 Definitely.

I try to explain that often with my whole theatre major in college-thing.
I'd rather perform on a stage in front of a bunch of people I don't know than sing a song in front of a handful of family/friends.
I'm so reserved IRL. Throws everyone off.:rolli:
