    Old-timers, re-introduce yourselves to n00bs here.

I'm Ivy, and I like to play with false dichotomies and expectations. I am both sacred and profane. I have two kids and a husband and a dog and a cat and a little ugly house I want to move out of but I'm terrified of a bigger mortgage. I edit English textbooks and spend too much of what they pay me to do that on stuff I don't really need. I like to kick it. That's about it.

I'm Pink. Former mechanic. Present artist (though I haven't drawn much lately - too tired). I love old books, old cars, old jokes, old music and guys that are so old, they're dead!

I am Kuranes. That is all.

( See my second Intro thread - "Kuranes Says Hello", or is it "Hello From Kuranes" ? My first intro was back during a different era, when only dinosaurs existed, or something like that.... )

Hello. I like the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover," but sometimes it's important to pay attention to what people choose to cover their books with. Their cover says a lot about what they value.. but not necessarily what they are -- sort of like when you take an MBTI test.

    Hi, I'm Jen.

    I'm old. (@$#&*$@&!)
    Sigh.

My life is very different than it was a year ago.
    I love my new one.
I still miss [parts of] my old one.
But I do not regret it.
Life is a series of doors that you have to step through rather than fear, or you'll become a virtual shut-in.

I still haven't figured out whether I'm kind or cutting, polite or mouthy.
    Probably both.
I know I'm not really afraid to speak my mind anymore.
That's been one large positive change.
I also have more confidence in my capabilities to cope and excel.
The world can be tough, but it doesn't need to be as frightening as we sometimes make it out to be.

    (like thread-splitting and skull-crushing and bottom-paddling).
I usually just sit in the HelpDesk/Customer Service and look pretty and help people feel heard.

    Lazy bum.
Who does the bottom-paddling around these parts? A friend of mine needs to know.

I don't paddle, but I'll do some rump-kicking if need be.

I think you should have a pretty good idea by now who will string you up by your toes around here! (Use that intuition!)

I'm Brendan. I'm an ENFJ, a student by trade, and I normally spend my time trying to figure out problems that only exist inside my head. I'm a math nerd and have been known to laugh out loud in Trigonometry at how perfectly everything in math fits together. I live in New Jersey, where the lack of excitement is both a curse and a blessing. My favorite band is Tool. And best of all I'm very, very sarcastic.
