That wasn't hazing... I love that chapter... It was a present.

I'm SO confused -- why is a request for a fish pun causing so much emotional floundering and half-baked forum drama?

We like our fish puns here -- hook, line, and sinker!

Well, if you all want to have a whale of a good time at my expense, by all means, but you should know that, even though I may flounder when it comes to making public speeches, I'm not a cowering little shrimp. Actually I'm ridiculously tall for a female and command quite a presence. And any intelligent quip I may make is no fluke - you're just scratching the surface of my wit.

    Very very nice!
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    5'11" (and 3/4)
And when I was a kid I was chubby...and wore glasses...
And I won a bronze at nationals in the Science Olympiad...
Think I was teased while growing up?

Of course I still wear that medal every Sunday while doing the crossword...

    Kidding!

All girls should be over 5'10" in my unhumble opinion.

    Bronze medal. I'm impressed.

There was a documentry on a while ago, where they got alot of really smart H.S science nerds from around Australia and gave them a 2 week crash course in uni biology as a test to go into some international science comp. Anyway it was quite moving when they interviewed the kids and most of them spoke about how wonderous it felt to fit in, even for two weeks of the year. To just be surrounded by other nerds and hence the norm.

I think they all went back to their normal schools and promptly got beaten up, but you get that.

    Useless dolphin fact.

"Dolphins do sleep, but not quite in the same way that people do. They sleep with one half of the brain at a time and with one eye closed. Dolphins rest this way on and off throughout the day, switching which side of the brain they shut down. During these periods, everything inside the dolphin slows down, and the mammal moves very little."
