Default Hello. New ISTJ here.. have a question

Hi I'm a 25 year old student and veteran who is going into Human Resources. I live in Texas.

My question is: has anybody ever known anybody to score two completely different scores when they take the Myer-Briggs test? Upon being discharged from the military, I took the test and scored as an ENFJ. Then about a year ago when I changed my major from Finance to HR, I was advised to take the test again. I then scored as a ISTP. When I went in to get my results explained to me, me and my career counselor decided that I was a more of a J. Has anybody ever heard of this happening to someone?

On a side note, I have not been diagnosed with any mental problems nor do I have any symptoms, I don't think.

    First, thanks for serving.

Second, yes. . . it happens all the time. However, if it was the same test, then it's obviously you that has fluctuated a bit.

On this forum you can find cognitive functions tests in the online test forum - those are somewhat more comprehensive. And of course, a professional (ie., pay some dollars) test will give you a more detailed accounting of what type you are.

Feel free to PM Bluewing. He'll give you all the details.

Yeah I already went that route. Both of the test were professional and paid for.
It just kinds of freaks me out and other people I tell that I've switched almost completely.

    It's illogical.

Seriously, ask Bluewing. He'll help you out. Tell him it's a favor from me (G-d knows he owes me).

    Welcome.

I, too, second the cognitive functions test.

It'll give you more data to analyze and consider, and more importantly, help us (people who don't actually know you) guide you in solving this quandry.
