No it's not, they are each others' inverse.

The shadow personality of and ESFJ would be an ISFP.

I was talking about the relationship between the inferior function and Jung's shadow concept; the unconscious (hidden) personality that emerges when one is in the grip of their inferior function.

To get an idea of what your inferior hidden personality is like, look at your opposite type; commonly known as, switching the letters. The concept is simple; the dominant function is the most energized, consciously directed function. The auxiliary and tertiary functions are progressively less consciously directed, on down to your inferior function, which is mostly unconscious. Under stress that triggers an inferior function reaction, an INTP would resemble an immature ESFJ by projecting a negative form of extraverted feeling onto others.

    Does that make sense?

@A window to the soul, my understanding of the shadow personality could be wrong. As it is, I'm not sure that the shadow personality translates to the INTP personality though. ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_(psychology)
The shadow functions, which is essentially to me the shadow personality. What I initially thought of how it works is the following.

    functions
Fe Si Ne Ti -> ESFJ

    shadow functions
Fi Se Ni Te -> ISFP
    source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESFJ#Shadow_functions

    inverse functions
Ti Ne Si Fe -> INTP

This isn't the first time I have seen it happen on the forum though, so I could be wrong. Hope you can help me understand that part.
