Just kidding, god I would love to meet a real life ENFP... sigh... never have, but welcome, I think you will like it here.

OH PS: here is a little secret, I am a dude too... and we are kind of rare for our kind. Cool thing is, we are usually the straight friend you can treat like a gay friend around the girls.
im a male ENFP as well. so true on being the straight friend treated like the gay guy lol.

are you in medschool? i think i read that in another thread? im studying bio undergrad right now...but im worried that my Ne might be the worst thing ever to hit medschool. im worried that im just not focused enough. or that my creativity (not just the artsy sense) will be extremely frowned upon or just not get enough stimulation... idk...any thoughts?

Ne definitely gets in the way of med school- once upon a time, I was a premed, now I am looking to become a big-shot lawyer in a big-ass firm somewhere.

Represent!!! Angry Arab's in med. school and I'm in the process of applying. Your Ne is a big strength in medicine. People give you symptoms, you connect them and make a diagnosis. That's Ne's specialty. ENFPs are expert communicators- also a bonus. We're open minded (translation: when 10 doctors dismiss a 50 year old lady complaining of excessive exhaustion of "just getting old," we'll hold off judgement long enough to figure out that it's chronic fatigue syndrome). Creativity may be looked down upon, but objectively it's a bonus, so why do you care? Oh, and for "not enough stimulation" ... how about our understanding of the human body changing every day, and drastically every 10 years or so? How about dealing with a completely new set of people and problems every day? How about not having to settle on a specialty until you're in your late 20's (when we ENFPs begin to shed their restlessness) and actually having something to show for it? Conclusion: medicine + ENFP = yes.
One thing you may need to be careful of is a tendency to gloss over details after getting the concept (rote memorization = I don't give a shit). Ne is the ultimate puzzle solver, but its power is solely dependent on how many pieces it has to work with. I don't think memory is well correlated with type, but the lack of it is especially sucky for us ENxPs. The end.

That is true but you can use your imagination a little more in law school- as long as it aligns with the truth and is logically sound- so I guess it appeals to Te but can appeal to Ti as well (analyzing)...

    thnx! phoenix!

wow... so many of the guy enfp's are gonna be doctors! thats pretty cool~ now im like... hmmm... should i have gone med school?

but yeah, i agree, i love to solve puzzles. i guess for me it ended up applying to the macro economic puzzle, bonds interest rates, and figuring out the "puzzle" of where the economy is headed... etc... in a weird way, i actually like this sort of stuff. although i imagine being a doctor is more rewarding in an intuitive healthy sense... figuring out puzzles of why a person might be risking their health etc... etc...

cool cool stuff! thnx for sharing

I'm a WOMAN!!! Why do people assume I'm a man? Is there a penis in my avatar? I mean, just because I work with prostates and fight prostate cancer doesn't mean I've got one sitting on my urethra. Ach nein!
