    Default Hi-lo

Greetings, fellow life forms! New member here—an INFP who once upon a time graded out as INTP and probably lives more in the "T" than the average INFP. NF definitely fits, though; idealism is a defining trait for me.

I'm just introducing myself to Enneagram, and three tests have given me 4, 5, and 9 so far. I haven't made up my mind on that yet, but we shall see. As for all of the other personality descriptors people post on this forum, I have no idea what any of it means. Especially all the w's and s's...

    Anyway, hi-lo.

    hi welcome

Rule of thumb for enneagram is that you can often be the type that grates you

Also the w means wing. That adds a little bit of flavor to your core enneatype.

And I'm assuming your talking about the instinctual variants when you say the s's.

There are 3 different instincts: self preservation, social, or sexual. These are abbreviated by: sp, so, sx

Hey! And wecome. I come up heavy T a lot on tests too. I also think being an enneagram 7 (a head fix) makes me a little more cerebral too. Maybe you're a 5!

Hope you enjoy your time here. See ya around!
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Thanks for the help and insights! After a little more reading, I'm thinking 5w4 is probably right.

We can never have too many INFPs.

    Welcome to the forums.

I wouldn't worry about the mistype. I thought I was an INTP for the longest time until I realized the differences between Ti and Te. INFPs are very logical people and naturally curious about the bigger picture. If you feel idealism suits your character like you say, INFP is a likely candidate for your personality type.

Hope Typology helps find the answers you're looking for.

    Good luck!
