    Default Hello

Hi folks, figured I'd introduce myself real quick. I'm a 19 year old male from the US, and a fairly regular guy. From what I know about mbti I believe the ISTP description fits me best, but ISTJ is also a possibility. Do y'all recommend I start a thread in the "what's my type" section and just list off the argument for each, or wait until y'all have seen me post a little more so you can partially go off of that?

Hi, I love ISTPs and ISTJs so both sound good to me. I'm sure once you start posting more people on this forum would be able to type you in a jiffy. O: You could also just type out why you believe you could be ISTP and why you believe you could be ISTJ in this thread. I did that in my introduction thread when someone asked me about the basis for my self-typing. Have you tried taking a test to see what you get? They may not be completely reliable, but the ones I found are pretty decent. Anyways welcome to the forum! I'm a newbie, too. The people here are super cool so I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here!

Thanks for the welcome . I've taken a few different tests online and they consistently come up as one of the two.
The case for ISTP is that I analyze things a lot, I judge ideas based only on their own qualities and not what they are associated with, I tend to need more stimulation than most people, I have no problem grasping theoretical information but I'm only interested in their practical applications, and I have an obvious issue with feeling.
The case for ISTJ is that I have a very strong concept of doing things the "right way", especially fulfilling duties and commitments, and have stayed out of trouble my whole life. Also as a kid I was the definition of ISxJ until I was around 12 or so.

Hmm, I want to say ISTP. O: It's not like all ISTPs have gotten into trouble in their lives. ISTPs are pretty devoted to their own beliefs so what you said about ISTJ could also apply to ISTP. I can't say for sure but that's what I have to say in it. ~__~
