    Default An INTP

Hi all, How's it going? I'm an INTP named Dan. I've been into typology (MBTI, that is) for quite some time, but haven't bothered much with forums. I'm a pianist/composer. I also enjoy a little bit of chess, astronomy, politics, psychology, linguistics, computers. So yeah, I look forward to contributing to this forum!
    Cheers!

Hello Dan. Anyone from Mars who landed on TypologyCentral would be excused for thinking that INTP is by far the most common personality type. OK let's expand that and say INxx - and to some extent Ixxx. The best comparison between the I & the E that I've ever read was: "Es have to live life to understand it whilst Is have to understand life to live it". My experience is that it does get easier as you get older but welcome and good luck in your search for meaning. You'll find plenty of insights on here. Geoff - a fellow n00b.

Haha, seems to be pretty true so far. I've so far noticed a very disproportionate amount of INxx's. It makes sense to me as I've noticed that the majority of people I've met who respond well to typology seem to be IN types, or perhaps N types. Of course this in only anecdotal, but it seems pretty plausible. I like that quote, though I feel like that may apply more to N's as there are many E types such as ENTP's and ENFP's (I haven't had much contact with their J counterparts, strangely enough, but they seem to be more interested in the purpose of that information) who are very motivated toward understanding (and even require solitude) life. S's, however, tend to gravitate toward experience regardless of E/I orientation. Correct me if I'm wrong.
