    Hello older retired INTP. Im younger just starting INTP. I only mention this so you know there is a chance that I might make you both embarrassed and disgusted at how you possibly used to be.

    I'm glad you find the place so freeing. Don't worry, unless you're intentionally trying to scandalize everyone, we know nobody's perfect.

    A little bit more about myself. I did the shorter Enneagram test this evening because I'd never before come across the concept of the "wing" type. My original test some years back now came out as a 5 which I think would be typical for a classic MB INTP. Tonight's test marked me as a 4w5. I was absolutely shocked when I read the profile of a 4w5 because that is me to a "T". It describes the real me much more accurately than the MB INTP does (although I still maintain INTP is my true type). It gives me much food for thought because I've hitherto always regarded Enneagram as very much a poor relation of the MBTI.

    This is getting worse. I've just taken the cognitive functions test:

    Introverted Thinking (Ti) ||||||||||||||||||||| 9.92
    Introverted Feeling (Fi) ||||||||||||||||||||| 9.62
    Introverted Sensation (Si) ||||||||||||||||| 7.7
    Extroverted Sensation (Se) ||||||||||||| 5.94
    Introverted Intuition (Ni) ||||||||||| 4.58
    Extroverted Feeling (Fe) ||||||||| 3.98
    Extroverted Intuition (Ne) ||||||||| 3.5
    Extroverted Thinking (Te) |||||||| 3.24

    Based on your cognitive functions, your type is most likely:
    Most Likely: ISTP
    or Second Possibility: ISFP
    or Third Possibility: ISFJ

    Your cognitive functions are, in order of development:
    Ti - Fi - Si - Se - Ni - Fe - Ne - Te
    Cognitive functions:
    Fi (95%); Ti (90%); Ne (75%); Fe (60%); Ni (50%); Si (50%); Te (15%); Se (5%)

    Hi, I'm new here, too, but wanted to say that personalities and temperments fascinate me. Maybe it's because I'm an author. I am so intrigued by what makes people the way they are and why we do what we do. Or maybe, I'm just an eternal student of myself and feel an ongoing need "to understand" the bigger picture and where all the pieces of the life's puzzle should fit. So, welcome

    Well I did another one of these tests tonight, fully expecting to reverse into a 5w4. Not a bit of it. I still came out as a 4w5 with a type 4 score of 9 and a type 5 score of 4.

    And I'm proud of scoring -5 on Type 8.

    Apparently this forum has really turned itself around in the last year. Note my sig about the "evil stepfather" and "socially retarded fool." All those ideas came from other forum members about me, but that was last year. When I first arrived on this forum, hopeful that it was the safe place that you think it is, I counted how many days it would take before someone would call me a troll for no good reason. It took one week. That person as far as I know was not reprimanded. The person who called me a "socially retarded fool" was eventually banned for general rudeness, but it took a few months.

    This is awesome! Sounds like you're very mature and have a lot of wisdom/experience. I welcome your contribution.
    For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

    That's amazing, I think more people should understand this side of it.

    I don't think the rest is bullshit just because I don't practice what other people practice. I'm not a businessman, but if it wasn't for the "bullshit" my boss practices I wouldn't have a job.
