    Default Noobish arrival

If this is typology 'central' then this is the place to be, right?

INFP 4w3 reporting in. My name is josh. I recently graduated from school and figure I want to study music and/or comp sci or something like the INFP meself, like philosophy . I also play a few instruments and have been into everything about computers lately. I'd like to build my own but you can't make much money when your recruitment agency gives you the runaround.

Did the death of Dennis Ritchie or Steve Jobs shock you more?

    Welcome.

    What instruments do you play?

And to answer your question, neither really shocked me.

Not really, you're just being manipulated into thinking so. Ironically, if a lot of people fall victim to this manipulation, then eventually, it will become the central. So stick around.

I don't know who Dennis Ritchie is, so I'd probably say Steve Jobs, but his death wasn't very shocking to me either. We all knew it was coming, sooner than later.

Ah, C. Well, that's just interpretational. In terms of who has brought more innovation and creativity to the world, Steve Jobs takes the crown. Wether or not Mister Ritchie would have created the C programming language would not have mattered much since there was a high demand for an easy to use interpretational computer language (and many were made, but C just became the norm), and it would have been made regardless of who was first. The significance of C is therefor debatable. Whereas the innovation brought by Steve Jobs, people that use interpretational languages and ideas and mold them into something unique and interesting, is not!

Welcome, @minutegovt! The death of Jobs was totally expected, so not very shocking. The way people got all upset was kind of weird. Confession: I don't know who the other guy is.
