I've been reading a lot of Enneagram books lately, and was curious about MBTI types and Enneagram styles and found this forum, which I'm glad I did.
Over a dozen years ago, I took the MBTI, and then in a search for understanding myself, read a book by Briggs & Myers (I can't recall the title). This spurred my interest in studying psychology (I was an art student at the time) and over the years I've read quite a few different self-development books, lately making a foray into the Enneagram (I'm currently reading through the types in "Nine Lenses on the World").
When I originally took the MBTI test, I scored as an ENFJ/P, however, it is my sense that some of my answers were perceptions I had about myself based on who I was told I was as a child (I talk a lot to people I'm close to, and my mother thusly labelled me an Extrovert). A few years later, and since, I've consistently scored as an INFP.
So far, what I've read, indicates I'm an Eight on the Enneagram (and I've been rather single-minded about learning about the Enneagram, reading several books and attending workshops). Apparently, this combination of INFP and Eight seems to be a high improbability from what little I've managed to find out and I'm curious to find out why.
I look forward to the discussions in this forum!
