Hello Avery, welcome to the forum

full of contradictions you say... but do you not think it is possible that for every thing you do which is perceived as a contradiction or idiosyncrasy, is really justified by sound reasons to back up your choice to behave/think in a certain way?

which would then mean you are not necessarily contradicting yourself, rather, you are acting in alignment to what can be expected from you in that situation? (sorry for jumping on your intro post there, but it's something I've been thinking about for some time )

I actually think about that a lot, because everyone has contradictions. I like to use the example of milk. Someone may ask, "Do you like milk?" to which I would answer "Yes". Later on that person may have me over for dinner and serve spaghetti. They could ask me, "Would you like milk to drink?" and I would say "No". I like milk, but I think that milk does not go well with Italian food. Without knowledge of my internal reasoning, my host could see me as contradictory.
Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight.

Yes, perception versus reality plays a big role in the scheme of things

    However

    as growth progresses
we develop sides of our personality that were latent
seemingly contradictory to our inherent character,
    but all in all,
they were are congenital traits from the beginning

i just find this more pronounced in myself than in others

and thank you for " jumping on my intro "
I love it when i am challenged intellectually
especially when the other party can stand on its own two feet, rationally

    exceedingly giving and open
    but horribly secretive

outspoken and sarcastic, ruthlessly critical and honest
    tearfully sentimental, over polite, genteel

affection and erotic whore, I laugh as loud as an ExFP
removed and amazingly stoic, find it hard to speak loud
and am frequently told or asked to " speak louder "

    which leads to confidence
    I have loads of it
but am open with my flaws and fears, insecurities
which make me appear weak.....the antithesis of diluted

probably just a normal people thing
    or INFJ
    idk
