I just dropped out of a Pharmacy technician course.. Because I finally decided to listen to what my body was telling me.
I don't like failing either. But not everyone is meant to do everything.

It might just mean cooking is not your thing. There is no shame in trying something and finding out, it's not for you after all.

It's expensive both financially and time invested. Maybe that is what motivates you to continue with something that stresses you out??..
I stayed in my course for the same reason and had a bit of a breakdown.

This might not relate to you at all.. But I would still say your body is telling you something.

Good Luck with this.. I feel your pain and I hope you can find some resolution.

Edit.. you are also seeing that kitchen work tends to attract very eclectic and strange types of personalities. You almost have be abnormal and deviant in one way or another, and if you aren't .. the job is likely to drive you to some form of self abuse.. drugs , drinking, gambling, sex and personality disorders are common..
Low paying, high stress work does that to people.

In MBTI terms .. It requires a good use of Se and Si to function in a kitchen,
and most importantly, Fe, to function in the whole industry, whether you are front of the house or back.
    You have the Fe.

My advice is then, work on those sensing functions.
I think working on the sensing functions is a good idea. As for it not being for me, I'm still unsure, and if I end up with more skills that I do or don't use, it's all good to me. Working with crazy people doesn't really bother me (and believe me, there are a LOT of crazy nurses out there, too!) and I think you get that in any job. The most difficult, hard-nosed, opinionated guy in the class whom everyone hates decided I'm okay and I'm the only one who can work well with him. And I rescued a project after another classmate had a major tantrum meltdown with someone else.

I'm like the Kitchen Gandhi or something. Still not sure that's a good thing.

And just to clarify, because I don't want anyone thinking I'm about to go hand in hand combat with Chef Ramsey or anything, this course is my lead-in to working in a long term care facility kitchen, where I hope to expand on my knowledge and become a dietition. I'm fascinated by nutrition and specialty diets for those with special needs. This course gets my foot in the door on that track, which is cool.

Hey, why did the chicken cross the road? That joke just gets better. Sometimes people become ironically cool years after their peak, like Mr. T a while ago, and Betty White. But I never heard of it happening w/ jokes.

LOL!! This has been known to backfire on me from time to time.. But I would imagine any NFJ in a kitchen, would eventually adopt or be anointed this role.

I like you already .. Welcome to the forums!!

Sorry... someone had to tell you.

Maybe you're not American, not sure if it's an international thing.

You are correct, sir--I'm a Canuck.

We still use teabags for their original purpose up here.

But then, we did name a town Dildo, so there you go.
