Introductions seem like a good idea to start with, so, hi!
My name is Kate, and I'm a perpetual student, i.e. I intend to spend my entire life in academia. It suits me, and I like it there. Currently, I'm just shy of finishing B.A in Linguistics, and looking to pursue a Master's in the same. In case it isn't obvious from that, just about anything linguistics or language related is bound to pique my interest. I'm mostly blind, and have entirely too much fun sorting myself into categories.
And that's the reason I'm here. I've been doing some reading about MBTI types recently, and think I've got myself figured out, but this place struck me as somewhere I could learn more, and check up on whether I do actually have myself typed accurately. *eyes the What Type Am I? forum* Is there a questionnaire or something to fill out to help others help one find their type, or...? I don't know what information exactly is needed to type someone by. For what it's worth, my current best guess is that I'm a somewhat atypical ISTJ (they're supposed to be the experts on punctuality, dependability, stoicism, and getting stuff done on time, which, well, I'm not. xD). I also haven't the foggiest idea about the cognitive functions, and have been using the MBTI as a set of dichotomies, which may be rendering my guesses inaccurate. So, that's something I'm hoping to understand better.
I've also had a bit of a look into Enneagrams, but quite a bit less than the reading I've done on the MBTI. The Enneagram system doesn't seem as easy to grasp, possibly because numbers aren't as mnemonic as MBTI types. Going by the descriptions I've read of the Enneagram types, I'd say I'm a 5w4, but I'm really not sure of that at all because my understanding is very limited.
I can also tell you that the animal that is the best metaphorical representation of my personality is the swift fox.
Is there anything else you'd like to know?
