Default New INFP - with occasional J tendencies....

Hello, all. Middle-aged, fluffy, mom-of-3 here.

I bobble between INFP and INFJ, with parts of each description matching, and parts not matching at all.

If I could change my nature, I would. It took me a long time to remember and recognize the truth of one of Shakespeare's sayings: "Life is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel."

I would like to feel less. I would like to be buffeted less by the hurricane force of my emotions and others. I would like to be able to wall myself off from others and not take every "sling and arrow" to heart.

But I've never figured out how.

Looking forward to reading and learning here.
Weirdo from the get-go. The one who always said the wrong things, thought the wrong thoughts, wore the wrong clothes, and was reviled in childhood. Then I married the wrong man, and was reviled in adulthood.

    Bitter? Not me!

Hello and welcome! You describe feelings similar to my own.

I love Shakespeare's works. Have you every read Cymbeline? It's my favorite play.

    Thanks, both of you!

Hi, Octavia. Actually, I've read very little of Shakespeare, just because middle-english is so hard to read. That's probably the *best* way to appreciate it, but I just don't have the patience. Maybe if I had one of those -- concordances??? -- where you have middle english on one side and modern english on the other, then I could appreciate what he said using the modern side, and also appreciate how he said it, using the other side.

i believe the reason infps tend to hav J charectoristics is cuz of their perfectionist natures.. extreme perfectionists sometimes

    Hello~

I love that quote. I take both sides at once . It wouldn't be fair to choose only one!

There are huge differences b/w INFx's. Vicky Jo's INFJ or INFJ?. I determined before reading it but it expounded very well on the differences. INFJ was like a first love lol It's gloriously excellent and it's a Rosetta Stone of mine. Perhaps you're neither, if you stll can't agree. But one small thing for P vs J is that P prefers 'open-ended' and J prefers 'closure'. Small clue to lure you in. Now, be lured and go read them lol At least, it's free!

    Happy hunting on figuring yourself!
