    Default Hello

My name is Sheena and I just figured out that I'm an INFP?

    What does INFP mean?

Also...I'm trying to figure out what INTP means because I also got that as a result. My friend states that I am of INFP potential. Tell me the difference. And how can I tell which one I am????

There are lots of resources on type around... read some of the forums here... then ask any questions!

How did you discover you were INFP?

you could also try reading the descriptions of INFP and INTP and seeing which one you relate to the most. I've tested as in INTP a few times myself, but the description for INTP typically does no describe me at all.

    Welcome!

I think the best thing to do is to read both profiles and see which one fits you best. There are others out there too, but these seem pretty good:

    INTP Profile

Hello, Sheena (Aren't you a Tales of Symphonia character?). Welcome to MBTI Central. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about MBTI or general psychology.

INTP means Introverted, Intuiting, Thinking, Perceiving. Their dominant function is Ti (Introverted Thinking), their auxiliary is Ne (Extraverted Intuition), their tertiary is Si (Introverted Sensing), and their inferior is Fe (Extraverted Feeling).

Basically, they're very intelligent people who struggle with social expectations, a tendency to procrastinate and over-analyze situations, and a tendency to use their intellect to learn more about abstract concepts that they can't apply, and they don't try to use them for material benefit. They're often archetypal geeks/nerds (although I probably shouldn't talk) .

If you're an INFP, your auxiliary and tertiary functions are the same as if you were an INTP, but your dominant is Fi (Introverted Feeling) and your inferior/aspirational is Te (Extraverted Thinking).

Look at the links below if you want to know more about the meanings of the functions and positions.

    Hi Sheena! Welcome!

Look up more of the INFPs and INTPs here, it should give you a general flavour of what each type are like in general.

    Hello and welcome!

One way to tell the two types apart is that INFP's often avoid people who cause a lot of conflict, since INFP's tend to be pretty sensitive. On the other hand INTP's just avoid people. I hope that helps.
