Hey. Welcome. Why is it that practically every ISTP (here, at least) seems to doubt their type...?

    Welcome Lithium.

I had trouble with both the S/N scale and the T/F scale. But now, I am fairly certain (whatever it means) that I am an INTP.

My favorite set of books regarding finding about type is Understanding Yourself and Others®

    I also got Personality Type

and Gifts Differing: Understanding Personality Type

They are good for historical reference.

I believe that is a product of the perceiving preference. My hunch is ISTPs don't so much doubt their type as they are open to the possibility of being another type.

The avatar isn't me, but it is one of my favorite hobbies, probably because I don't get to do it that often! I'll look out for those books, are they a better resource than the information on the internet?

It does seem that S and N is the hardest to differentiate between. I think there might be a lot of cross over; I know personally I use both in different circumstances. I also think that most ISTPs who would be interested in this would likely have more N than the s-typical type. Maybe that's just me though.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes.

I hadn't said hello yet (apologies) and thanks for your input on the STP survey thread. Lots of assistance there!
