Welcome aboard. Good for you, running long distances. I hate it with a passion, so I don't do it. I'm happy at the 2 mile mark.

I haven't done Bikram yet, but I used to go to a yoga place where they'd heat up the studio. It was definitely a nice experience.

Getting the mental endurance for running is tough for everyone. Even on days when I'm not in the mood for running it's hard to get out there and beat the initial "hump" of "You don't really want to do this, you want to sit on your butt and eat Cheetos" internal talk.

I've heard a lot of good things about Vibram Five Fingers! Take things really slowly with those if you're new to barefoot running so you don't hurt yourself!

Hello! Thanks! I probably won't be able to race until next year, but I'm collecting all the "stuff" and "thinking" a lot about it!

Hi! Interesting career and degree. I work in the same field.

Impressive that you run half marathons! I've been hoping to get back into running again. I experimented with barefoot running a few years ago. It was great, but I took things a little too fast and had to stop running for at least a week which then turned into years. I found hiking and backpacking to be more fun because I like being out in the woods and mountains, but might take up trail running to get regular aerobic exercise. Like Salt n' Pepper, I plan to try the Vibram Fivefingers for both running and hiking.

    Hello Javo!

Yes - I can't imagine running across many ENFJ's in this field. . . many more INTPs and IxTxs.

    Good luck with the VFFs!

    Hello and welcome! =D

I've been thinking of giving running a try for a while now ever since I heard about the good it does to the mind, body and soul.

And Vibram Fivefingers, yes definitely been hovering in my thoughts that I'm interested in having a pair of it for my hikes, and future running endeavour. =)

It's nice to know what coincidence feels like every now and again.

    Cheers!
