    Awesome.

And third grade seems like a great/fun age to teach. They're beginning to become really smart and a bit aware, but there's less drama as when they get a little older. I'm not a teacher, but that seems to be my observation.

You quote Mary Haskell's Journal in your sig - please tell me you have read Beloved Prophet???

This is one book I would love to see turned into a movie!!

I read it many years ago and searched the world for my precious 2nd hand copy!

Its true. But it is kinda a transition grade so first sem they are must less mature than second. Think about this: 1st and 2nd graders can be very similiar, 4th and 5th grades have a lot in common, but 3rd is where it changes (and drives me nuts!) I love the kids to death but more 2nd semester.

I sure have. Do you notice that precious few people actually know who Kahlil Gibran is?

Since I'm impressed by your newly found multiquote ability and your high naturalist score in your signature, I thought I'd say hello!

It was difficult though, due to the jealousy of you having the entire summer off.

I have noticed but have been introducing The Prophet to a new generation - in Australia the text and paintings are out of Copyright. One of the projects I have had them undertake is to design and set a gift book they can then print on homemade paper and hand-bind as a gift for someone they care about.

The text is available through Project Gutenberg
