may i ask: what is it that's stopping you from figuring out J vs. P?

To your question, my (somewhat) answer:

Well, I'm not so sure really.

The first time I took a test I came out with P. And I was like, "Oh, cool." At the time I really didnt know what this thing was about so my intrest was very minmal. Later, after my friend started getting sucked into this thing, I wanted to figure it out for myself. I took several tests after that, and my INFP started fading into the INFJ.

I read both INFJ and INFP profiles and they seem similar. They both really connected to me.

    My percentages are:

    I-95%
    N-63%
    F-53%
    J-53%

So I guess im pretty well rounded?

    Welcome chippinchunk!

It seems like I've seen a lot of INF's on the internet confused by whether they are J or P. I believe one of the biggest weaknesses of most MBTI type tests is discerning between INFP and INFJ.

    Welcome, chipmunk!

    Welcome, chippinchunk!

One thing to consider is that you might be a P, because if you were a J, you might tend to be more certain about it.

Hello, chippinchunk. Welcome to MBTI Central. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about MBTI or general psychology.

Yes, it's okay, although it's not required... what do you think of us so far?

I don't really understand why you're confused between INFP and INFJ. The simple solution is to determine whether you use Fi and Ne, or Ni and Fe. Some questions off the top of my head...

    1. Do you meditate on ideas or feelings more?

    2. Can you accept something simply because you want to, or do you have to have a reason for believing it?

    3. Do you find Sensing or Thinking harder to deal with?

    4. Are you concerned with accuracy at all?

The reason mostly on why i'm confused is because I (think) I act more like a INFP, but the test results always come out INFJ. And i'm like...(pause)...ok...?

I also look over at how other INF-p/j look at things. Like their replys on a topic and what they think about it. And most of the time I'm going with what the INFJ said. But everyone says that i'm personally nothing like the Judger.

    ::::ANYWAYS::::

    OK, please analyze me!

1)Haha, both. There isnt one that I go with more.
2)I have to have a reason for believing it.
3)Well, Sensing seems easier, but Thinking, is something I do better (what I prefer).
4)Hrm, well, it is nice to know that everything is accurate (I would want it that way) but if not, I could go with it.

it seems like the common traits listed for Js are actually only xxTJ traits. it's harder to say stuff like "are you organized" and expect an accurately scored answer for an xxFJ, especially an IxFJ.

i always test as P if i answer the questions honestly, and all my friends claim that i'm a P. i thought i was a P for over a year. but once i got into the function theory stuff, i figured out i use Ni first, Fe second...aka INFJ.

    Terms With Nonobvious Meanings

look at introverted intuition and extroverted feeling
then look at introverted feeling and extroverted intuition.

you should definitely be able to figure it out.
