Welcome. Have you ever been lost (physically, mentally, or spiritually) on one of your arduous hikes?

You think I'm not lost now?

    1. Got lost once physically when hiking alone a few hours away in the desolate hills of northern PA, and it was getting dark, and I hadn't told anyone where I was going... but I took the right turn-off and found my way to a main road. (whew)

    2. In some ways, I still feel 'spiritually lost' -- in that I've had to restructure the things I believed once were true, and am seeking to build an edifice that I have ownership of, rather than being pressured onto me.

I don't know. I'm wondering now if "being lost" is merely one way to orient myself. If I believe there is "one full right answer," then I am "lost" when I can't perceive it and orient myself to it. If I believe my life is simply my life, meant to be lived out as best as I can, and wherever it takes me is where I go, and it's all right to do that, then I'm not really "lost" anymore. [To buy into a cliche, "Wherever you are, there you are."]

Not that there is not any sort of ultimate truth, but just that I need to worry more about living positively where I am, rather than constantly disappointing and frustrating myself by not being content where I'm at.

So you think I'd do better having him make a Strength or Con check instead?

(You better hope I don't succeed, or you will feel the crushing pain of my 5d8 mod edit function.)

    ... boy, that sounded geeky...
    Geeky?

#1 Charisma checks are for gimps. I shall simply use my spell like ability of Dominate Monster (just incase your inhuman )
#2 Solidarity? How's an AC of 50+ standing still grab you? No? Constitution of 25, better? Fast healing 3?? Solid is my prefix never mind my middle name and I'm an Elf!!
#3 5d8 mod what? Sorry but I'm immune to charms and compulsions. Your OCD tendancies will have no effect.

    Geek..... bloomin amateur!!
    ;P

I so want to make that switch but our lot are ingrained in D&D. It's like a bloomin religion! You should see what happened when I expressed the critique conversation which I'd been having regualrly with my INTJ friend on EnWorld. They whent ballistic! I only pointed out the problems with D&D as we saw them hoping to promote discussion and investigate solutions. The very first reply called me a troll!! We had fun..Shhh
