    Default greetings

After spending a somewhat considerable amount of time lurking about the place, I have finally joined. Can anyone say "procrastination"?

    A little about me :

I have an intense fascination with any subject devoted to the exploration of the mind. My formal education is limited. However, I take great pleasure in learning and have continued my education on my own time and in my own way. I have spent countless hours poring over various books, research journals, web pages, and periodicals about psychology, philosophy, sociology, and anything else I can find that deals with the study of mental functions and behavior. This does not make me an expert on any of these things, but I like to think that I have acquired a reasonable amount of knowledge and insight regarding them. It is a hobby I find highly enjoyable.

I am an INTP. I have only recently taken an interest in the Enneagram. My score tends to be a tie between 5 and 9.

Looking forward to meeting some of you in the forums!

    Welcome!

Any personal favorites (books/resources) for understanding the enneagram or MBTI?

    ergophobe,
A few websites I have found helpful recently :
    Jungian Type Inventory
    The Myers and Briggs Foundation
3DPersonality.com | Introduction to Myers-Briggs Type Indicator System
    temperament and personality typing
Keirsey Temperament and Myers Briggs personality type
The Enneagram and the MBTI: an electronic journal on the relationship between the two personality typing systems.

Without a formal education, it is easy to become confused when confronted with Keirsey's Sorter, which deals with types differently than the MBTI. These websites helped me to see them in contrast.

I realize now that I have failed to mention anything personal about myself other than an interest in Typology. Typical.
OK... I am a 30 something woman, divorced last year and now in a loving and exciting relationship with an ENFJ. (I know... strange, but it works)
I enjoy reading, computer gaming and science fiction films. I have an exceedingly boring job and spend most of my free time online browsing forums such as this one.
    Better? lol
