Default Nice to meet such loverly people . . .

    Hello,

I feel sort of awkward, but here goes.

I'm Windigo. I live for learning and teaching.

I've never actually taken the MBTI, but I've spent the past 3 years studying it and boring my family with the amazing insights. I find it useful for understanding the behavior of humans.

I think I've settled somewhat into the INTJ niche because I feel a sense of relief when I read the posts in this forum that I really may not be as alien as most people see me.

I'm married to a techie ISTP who CONSUMES sci-fi in copious amounts and therefore is fascinated by my alien demeanor (lucky for me!)

I am fascinated by connections and the reasons WHY. I can't help but analyze, categorize and systemize EVERYTHING. It's a compulsion. Sorry.

Finally, I know I talk a lot. Probably the result of finding myself in front of a room full of students and realizing that I am getting paid with the expectation of imparting all I know to these poor suckers.

I will try to keep it relevant but as one former student put it: "You know (Windigo) . . . blah, blah, blah--the history of the world."

If it bothers you just tell me . . . It's actually very difficult to offend me . . . although I don't always know if I'm offending you . . . so if you are (offended), I apologize in advance.

I look forward to meeting you.

Hello, Windigo! Welcome to the forums. That's an interesting user name you have. Oh no, you're not one of those malevolent cannibalistic spirits, are you?

Thank you! I'm sorry I'm not actually Canadian although I see why you thought so . . . It is actually a reference to a poem by Ogden Nash about the Wendigo (my namesake).

However I have many Canadian friends and although I realize this is a gross over generalization I love the Canadian sense of humour which is an interesting mix of Scottish sarcasm, Nordic pragmatism and the French, "La Vie? Absolutment!" (I'm not sure how to translate heck, yeah!)

Also my husband's family lives literally 5 miles from the border!

    And Sky:

"Oh no, you're not one of those malevolent cannibalistic spirits, are you?"

No, but people generally regard me as such! I normally just feed on my own flesh . . . is there a different word for that? I promise not to bite!

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me! And it's okay, INTJs are known for their stiff and formal welcomes so it makes me feel at home!
