    Default Greetings, everyone

As you probably get a lot of greetings, I will keep this short.

    My interests are:
    - philosophy
    - psychology
    - religion / spirituality
    - medicine

    My goals are:
    - to meet interesting people
    - to be of use for the community
    - to acquire new knowledge

Some of you might already know me over from PC. To those who do, it will be interesting to see how the new environment affects your communication. To those who do not, warm greetings - I look forward to understanding you and learning the lay of the land

    Welcome Ungeweliante!

    Nice to have you here!

I had an account on PC for a few months.

I didn't use it much because I like the atmosphere here better.

It is a bit moderated, but it is also quite civil, and alot of interesting folks from various parts of the world, different stages in life, and different educational/professional backgrounds contribute.

I am both religious myself, as well as a student of anthropology and comparative religion. You could say that I have an interest in all the religions, but I particularly relate to hinduism, jainism, buddhism and the neopagan movements. In philosophy, my true loves are existentialism, epistemology and ethics. I have to admit, though, that I'm very bad at reading books, so this is not something that I can use well as a basis of discussion. Neither do I remember names very well. Rather, I discuss thoughts and concepts. It's possible this will change, though, when I get to begin my studies on theoretical philosophy.

Well I'm a Catholic, but I'm quite familar with those religions. I often have private chats about them with one member here. Same goes for Existentialism, although I favor the more theistic version than the more popular atheist version.

What do you believe, exactly? At which points, if any, does your catholic faith differ from the "official" version?

That's certainly an interesting question, which would take me quite a while to fully answer(if that's possible).

Well Catholic means universal, which means that there can numerous variations of the faith - whether culturally, liturgically, or even personally. You pretty much have to stay within the guidelines of doctrine. So I can certainly say I have my own unique twist to the faith.

Now in terms of more cultural, political, and social matters - I'm certainly very critical of how the Church often conducts itself. I'm certainly very anti-clerical on many levels, although I don't particularly like the knee-jerking of the church that many engage in. Too many clergy these days trivalise the faith, and I'm literally disgusted with the garbage I see in many "Catholic" churches.
