    ...as they say in the Northern parts of England, which roughly translates as 'hello'

    I'm not quite as far north as I'd need to be to hear that phrase every day, but I'm far enough north that the people in London probably think I don't have indoor plumbing yet.

    As you can see from my avatar, I like old movies and I'm particularly fond of Clark Gable, who's been my sorta hero since I was a little nipper. I'm nowhere near as suave as he was though, obviously.

    I don't want to put my type in my profile because I think it would just bias the way things I say are taken.

    Yeah. I mean, when I was a kid we only had an outdoor toilet. You just learned to live with it. Things are more civilised now, of course. We built a lean-to so you wouldn't get wet on the way to and from it.
