    Default Also new. Mmmhm.

    Hi.

I found a thread here about female INTJs, so I joined. I keep taking these tests hoping to get a different score, but I always get INTJ. All the descriptions are freakishly accurate, so I'm moving on to the acceptance phase.

Despite everything, I managed to get married and have two children. We live in Chicago, where I work half time as a software developer and half time as a security consultant. In my free time, I take classes (welding, tai chi) and make things. Between work and kids, I don't have much free time, but I am patient.

I have never had much luck making friends with other INTJ females -- not sure why -- but I've always gotten good things from talking to them. :-)

And that's about as much as I can think of to say. TTFN.

Welcome! You sound busy and enthusiastic!

I should warn you that certain administrators of this forum (myself, to be specific) suffer from mottephobia and may or may not suffer mild anxiety upon reading your username.

i am thrilled you are here (and only some of it is because it's more data to add to our thread; most of it is purely happiness to have you!)

    I hate your name.

Not because I hate you but because I hate moths, they scare me man, it's the way they move...

    That's pretty cool, welding.

    Default phobias

I used to suffer from mild gephyrophobia. Then I lived in San Francisco for a few years. This is what is apparently referred to as immersion therapy.

There is a variety of ipomoeia (alba) that flowers in the early evening and remains open all night. Its fragrance is sweet and it attracts moths of various varieties, especially the larger ones. As a child growing up in a rural area and warm southern climate, spawn of an amateur entomologist, I have learned that I am bigger than the bugs, so there is no need to fear or loathe them. And if you pack your out of season clothes properly, moths will not destroy them.

Having said that, experience has taught me that there is a measure of trickster in the INTJ mind. I think it's the other side of the coin of the mind that can ponder objectivism with no emotional investment. But I didn't really choose the nickname to tweak anyone -- it just seemed appropos. A small, overlooked creature mostly seen by humans near porch lights, vastly underconsidered... loathed... but upon closer inspection, ecologically important and intricately beautiful.

I think someone just delivered the paper.

PS: Welding is awesome. It smells bad, it's hot and dangerous and you get burned. But when you put your coupon in the press and watch your weld bend without breaking and you realise the power you have to build s***... it's a kinship too awesome for words.
