Default INTJ female (sigh, where are all the others?)

    Hi,

I've known I was an INTJ for a long time. When I worked in the Info-tech industry I just blended in really nicely. XNTXes abounded there. Lots of my collegues were male INTJs or male/female ENTJs and a few Ps and the sales folks tended to be ENFX. Now I work / study in a much more touchy feely domain - I feel like an alien. They all tend to be xSFx.

So in looking for ways to deal with the change constructively I find myself joining here.

My closest friends (few that there are) are INTJ men . My significant others have tended to be ENTJs - high energy relationships to say the least.

So here I am doing a real INTX thing. Joining an online community.

Hello, creativeRhino. Welcome to MBTI Central.

Your predicament is common among female INTJ's. They usually feel out of place by social standards. Dealing with SF's? That can be especially difficult for NT's as well.

Why did you change work? You sounded much happier where you were before. Did you not really have a choice, or did you think you would like it for some reason?

Anyway, we'll be glad to have you here now.

    Welcome to the forum.

    I am an INTJ female.
I know what you mean about SFs.
It can be emotionally exhausting keeping up with all their feelings.

Ah, athenian200 - I was made redundant and basically decided to do something else. I was really sick of computer stuff and project management. Brilliant at both but done them for too long. It was the employment consultants that spotted the total lack of drive and suggested I experiment elsewhere.

I was exploring other options and bit by bit a new hobby of ceramics took over my life and I'm in the final stages of a diploma in ceramics. There is an endless amount of technical stuff to learn (clay, glazing, firing, form etc etc) and then there's the mastering of knowledge in practice. Out of all the arts I think it is THE xNTx one. So I will be able to escape from my fellow students SFness soon. I was looking to share a studio, but the experience with the others is leading me towards going solo.

Of course this won't keep bread on the table so I do a bit of freelancing in management/IT stuff. Almost the perfect set up.

I am beginning to discern fellow NTs in ceramics. There are a few, and not surprisingly their art and craft is quite different from the mainstream. I think that Introverts are quite common too. The majority of them would probably be xSFP though.

I'm perpetually amazed by the number of female INTJs we've attracted. They're so rare and so awesome...
    I 100%, N 88%, T 88%, J 75%
