I just found this forum a short while ago and really like it. It's got more variety than most I have seen and there's always lots new to see.
I am 32 and have taught for a number of years and also studied both in Canada and the States. I have lived in 3 provinces. I like travelling and sometimes busk when I travel because it is an interesting way to meet people, while also paying for little extras on the trip. I play violin, clarinet, piano and guitar, like teaching ESL and am a voracious reader. I like to read biographies and history especially. I like music, but rarely listen to it once I get home because I have been so inundated with it all day. Folky type music is my favourite, although I like selected bits of many different genres. I am doing a lot of writing these days, most of it non-fiction, except for a children's book that I am working on. Family plays a large role in my life and I have been fortunate to have found many close friends within my extended family. As far as friends, I've found that mostly first borns and only children extroverts tend to be attracted to me as friends although my circle of people includes some exceptions to that rule.
For five years I have taught on a reserve in northern Manitoba where there is a thriving fiddle and guitar program. It was a great culture shock when I first moved here. Although I had grown up in an area with many First Nations people, there weren't many opportunities for interaction. I have learned a world of things living here and wouldn't have exchanged these years for the world. Next year I am going to teach French a little closer to home.
I am the youngest of three kids who are widely spaced out in age. I am a devoted aunty to my brother's kids especially, who live a little closer (he has quite a large family). My dad is an ISTJ and my mother is an XNFJ. She is the driving force in our family and is an amazing person. My dad is steady and dependable and a good guy. I am an INFJ.
Well, that's about it. Thanks folks,
